Patriots vs. NFC Pro Bowl Team, Who ya got?

Just curious to see how good people think the Patriots really are. Do you think they could beat a team with the NFC's best? Also curious to see where you think the line should be at.

I'm pretty sure this was already discussed in another thread.

I'm a huge pats fan and I think even if it was Pats+Indy vs. NFC pro bowl team, NFC would win.

I'd take Packers + Cowboys best over the Pats. They aren't that good.

NFC by 11.5+ assuming they have the ability to train and have no cap restrictions.

NFC pro bowl team by at least 10 points

NFC and it's not even close.

Re: Patriots vs. NFC Pro Bowl Team, Who ya got?

NFC by 11.5.

The only possible advantage the Pats would have over the NFC Pro Bowl team is having played with each other for a full season. Give the Pro Bowl team a month or so to prepare and a couple exhibition games and it would be a complete and utter beatdown.

You could pick two middle of the pack NFC teams and they would be favorites.

Re: Patriots vs. NFC Pro Bowl Team, Who ya got?

QB is debatable. I guess you could take Brady.
RB, PB team easily.
WR, combination, easily PB team.
O-line, easily PB team.
TE, easily PB team.
D-line, PB team easily.
CBs, PB team easily.
LBs, PB team easily.
ST, PB team easily.

I think this would be an interesting exercise.

How many teams would it take to make the game a pick 'em, assuming you started from the bottom up. Using AFC as well. Take the 49ers, Raiders and who else?

This is so ridiculous. Packers + Cowboys would kill the Pats.

You'd probably have to go all the way up to the 4-6 teams. CIN, KC, MIN, NO, and BAL would make a sick team.

Who the coaches are and what system they use seems like it would be a major headache for the NFC.

The O-line has never played together.

Seems like they would need more than a month to gel to be 11 point favs

Yeah, as soon as you start getting into OK teams that just have terrible offense/good defense or vice versa, it'd be a blowout.

So give them Minnesota's O-line. It's good enough. Put a good QB behind them.

I think you guys aren't realising how bad the NFC is compared to the AFC.

Half the Pats team could start on the NFC Pro Bowl Team. Plus Bill Belichick is the best coach in the NFL bar none.

Uh, lol?

The NFC has won more games against the AFC than it has lost. So...yeah. The AFC may still be slightly superior, but it's not as one-sided as it used to be.

Re: Patriots vs. NFC Pro Bowl Team, Who ya got?

Kyro,
I thought you meant worst team, not team with a really bad record due to injuries and bad luck.
Edit: This might of come off dickish, but that wasn't the intention, but the Rams aren't that bad. Also there is a lot of variance in this since certain teams complement each other really well when combined.

BS.

Cowboys and Pack are good.

Between the two teams you have rediculous passing game. Rediculous D, rediculous running game. They would beat the Pats bad. Between the two teams you could guard Moss and pressure Brady. Harris is a little short but has been the best cover corner in the NFL this year.

Well, losing Pace may have hurt, but the Rams were really bad before Bulger and Jackson got hurt. I mean, even after getting those two back and seemingly turning things around, they only scored 13 against the terrible 9ers.

WR core of TO, Fitz, Johnson, Williams, Boldin, Witten, Plaxico. Have Barber, Peterson at RB. Pats can't even compete with that.

Maybe if the NFC had Jesus covering Moss, and the Holy Ghost pressuring Brady, they might keep it close. I still like the Pats on a last second field goal.

No I mean their personnel to get 11 guys. GB 2ndary is really good. GB has Kampman and their front 4 is really good. Dallas has a ton of studs on the line and LB position as well.

Pats O line would get absolutely raped by an all NFC D (assuming good coaching). There are some sick pass rushers in the NFC <<<<<<<<<<< Moss would still be very potent obv but he could definitely be limited especially with the added pressure on Brady.

True but the Pats do have pretty much the best possible 3-4 D-line available. I guess you could sub Williams for Wilfork but they are very close. And Samuel > Any NFC corner (i think, but I may be wrong.)and Brady > Any NFC QB. Of course the NFC wins almost everywhere else (LT and LG might be kinda close but maybe not). So yeah, NFC wins.
