ocd: Forgot to say this was intended to see the guesses to the 'top 25 of alltime' poll where players 25-10 are already known.

This is certainly not 'best NFL player' who went to college - no Montana, no Reggie White, no Ray Lewis, no LDT, incl Detmer, etc.

Multiple choices are because I wasn't putting 30 choices seperately, but you can feel free.

this is one reason i think its a 'whos the best nfl player' argument. of course i'm a usc homer, but either way leinart had a better college career then any of the mannings. if there was no nfl i feel the majority of people would think leinart > peyton

Agreed. If you look at their resumes, Peyton isn't anywhere near Leinart.

Troy Davis had back to back 2,000 yard rushing seasons for Iowa State.

Brian Bosworth was a joke in the NFL, but was a terrific college player.

LOL at Doug Flutie and no Archie Griffin.

Naj, you screwed up this thread pretty bad with a crappy poll, but your initial desire to prompt discussion about who the top 9 will turn out to be is good.

I have Red Grange coming in #1, Herschel/Bo/Barry/Detmer will all certainly show up on the list as well. I'm not sure who the other four will be to round it out though.

agreed 100%..... that's what these best college player polls i see are. well, i guess charlie ward and a few others... and this is just vague memory, but didn't bo jackson have alot of injury trouble in and around huge games. sure grabbed huge yards in bigger games.... but again, it's like bo later became a true icon.

yeah, but my point was big games vs. non-big games. remembering this vaguely.. and we are talking the top 9 players ever... hershell i'd say for sure... and then i guess another question is whether to take mostly QB and RB's ala the heisman (although really they affect football more than any other position, especially QB)
