I folded a set for 100bb\'s
 

Minraising villain seems like a loose passive type, 40/10/low AF but only over 40 hands or so. Main villain seems decent/taggy, just joined a bunch of my tables but no prior history. Haven't seen him showdown anything yet but he seems solid enough.

Sooo basically I put him on 666. He can't have AK/KK, and any other K doesn't play like this. A flush draw is all I'm ahead of, but why would he gas it like this with the donk still involved? Hrmmmmm.

1/2 6 handed, TAG has $206, donk has $215 and I cover. UTG folds, Hero raises 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] to $7, Donk calls next to act, TAG calls otb, blinds fold.

Flop is 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($23)

Hero bets $20, Donk minraises to $40, TAG makes it $150, Hero pukes and folds?

Just to be clear, it is the 40 vpip that is minraising. The tag is the one making it $150.

ah, tag can still be isolating the donk with a wider range than just 66 Hero is PF raiser so his bet is likely to be seen as a contbet. and there is no way they can put us on a hand this strong.

call me crazy but if i'm in the tag's situation, a bet by a solid player and a minraise by a loose/passive, I'm not trying to isolate with draws.

I think it's also somewhat worth noting that the Ks is out there, so that takes away from a lot of combos (KQs, KJs, KTs).

Donk - any KX, AA, any 2 pair, 66
TAG - 34ss, 45ss, AXss, 66, possibly even KQ becasue he knows donk can have any Kx and hero often missed that flop

but why the hell did TAG make it 150 leaving only 60ish behind? regardless, you know what everyone is going to say

yeah but a ton of TAGs at 200nl really really suck and can't fold a nut draw for 100bbs, and never would consider folding 45ss or something either.

Just think of it as you are putting him on the what... 3 combinations of 66? that range is just never ever correct. this fold is actually very bad tbh

I think its closer than you guys think it is but I'm not going to change your minds. I think its mostly me giving the tag too much credit but w/e.

How do you play it with 150bbs? 200?

About 18 months ago I posted a hand where I folded a set for 100 BB. People thought I was retarded then, even though I turned out to be right in the end (not just results but villain as I read him was massively weighed to a better hand).

Putting villain on squarely one hand seems ridiculous imo. His range is always going to be wider than just the 3 combos of 66. You're c-beting this flop a ton and the donk can have a ton of hands here with his minraise. I think 45s, Akx, and ever KQ type hands are definitely in his range.

Are you saying the TAG made a bad move if he had 45s or a nut flush draw? Doesn't seem a mistake to me to raise or push in his spot. (the again I'm a bad 200NL tag)

al, its just cause we have a deeper "feel" sense for the game from all of our live play. you made a read and went with it, i personally stack off here but i highly doubt hes isolating with Kx here or spades for that matter. id expect to see 66 here alot and Ax spades maybe 20% of the time 10% some random hand
