Why are we not raising "pre"? Is it because there are visibly 3 Aces out of the deck, or is it just not a raising hand in general?

100% properly played *after 3rd* in my book. You shoulda folded on 3rd tho... You have AAA2348 and AAA4 which are critical outs are all dead so your scoop chances are taking it right in the pooper. I normally don't give advice because I want to keep people as retarded possible in this game, but I'm drunk as hell right now.... So F*** it...

On 5th, even if he has AA you are no long a /prohibitive/ favorite. I would actually check raise and see what he does. A lot of idiots will still bet naked AA here because they are total idiots, but I raise because 1.) he might fold 2.) if you two pair, you're most likely ahead 3.) If you low, you gotta lock. You have a 2 way hand, he doesn't. Its key to agress pots when you have two way hands against unidirectional ones. You may be behind at the moment, but you give yourself a chance to take it down and have an A$$tone of outs...

We don't raise third because several cards we need are dead. I do think that raising would be OK, though.

I like as played. You could also open raise 3rd. I don't like a limpreraise at all, because your hand is probably not the favorite. Also, it gives information that you have 3 wheel cards. I want to fold this hand if the cards don't hit just right, and therefore I want to keep the pot small.

All seems fine to a low limit player like me, though a possible raise on 4th would be good (though your dead cards may have put you off). You'll always have position and so in a good spot.

He has to be raising anything up to T9 for 523 to be a favorite with this many dead cards. Which seems a little optimistic since he raises with a lot of small cards showing behind him.
