just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
guy in the sandwich is some rando fish
main villain is a good reg-thelilbearbeany (i dont have stats bc i just had to restore my computer but i think hes rather lag-a-tag and bordering on the tag side) who likes the triple check? if flop is bet what is your line? im torn bc a CR screams strong with the fish in the middle and kinda turns our hand face up, but on the other hand just calling sucks bc of all the draws... Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
bet flop? i mean you dont want any flushes drawing for free.
the way you played atleast reraise the turn, you need to get money in while you are ahead (a club could be very bad) |
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
bet bet bet - wtf getting tricky u are playing nl400. ure not phil ivey and thats not the normal way to play poker!!!

Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky

|
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
this might be the worst hand ever played?
|
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
when he checks the river behind, which he will do a lot in this situation, you're not going to feel very tricky any more
|
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
that's funny, the people i buddylist usually play sets like this
|
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
flop is ok bet the turn bet the river

flop is ok bet the turn bet the river [/ QUOTE ] actually i think just the opposite |
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
Attempting to c/r flop squeezes the fish out of the hand. Why make his life more difficult, bet.
|
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
meh, i like it.
|
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
Turn bet is hot if we can trap UTG to buttons overzealous AK raise.
|
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
fwiw, i think a river c/r gets paid off with a VERY high frequence in this spot.
|
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
turn is great card if he thinks you're going to stab at that more than not
|
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
so i think the best line is a flop lead as is kind of the consensus
what im wondering about is a turn lead vs the c/c which i think is better than the CR against this villain i dont think he would bluff raise this turn and i think air makes up alot more of his range than do Ax hands so i think turn check is good, also i think river CR is better than a lead for the same reasons... it comes down to the value i can get from a good A by donking turn and being able to 3bet vs the value i get from air + an A with the turn + river combo obviously the turn 3bet gets the most chips in (unless he pays off a river CR) but that scenario plays out less often so, what do you guys think about this tradeoff? |
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
what the hell are u doing the cheack on the flop is not that bad but u got to rerasie on the turn and than bet the river retard

Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
wtf @ people saying bet turn is bad?
|
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
mix up your play and all that baloney, but leading the flop here is probably so much better than checking that i'd probably do it 100%

Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
i like it... check RAIIIIIZZE
|
Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
Since the btn is the preflop raiser your check on the turn is very bad imho. You have the chance to get utg in the hand and let btn raise a wide range. Once flop is checked you must must must bet the turn. You have a set on a drawy board in a small pot ?

Re: just a line check: 2,4 NL-getting tricky
bet flop is just fine i think because the fish will often call and maybe villain will raise so the pots gets very big. By checking u allow villain to cb just as it turned out because cbetting against 2 opponents is risky and hell try to avoid it sometimes.
as played i raise the turn to make the pot big and get my money in ahead; i dont think hell fold AK to a simple raise here. on the river i just bet because hell often take the free showdown with Ax when he would have called a bet. i dont like the triple check, NL400 is not the limit where u need to be THAT tricky, just play it a bit more straightforward, youll get paid out in most cases anyways |
400NL - would you value bet that river ?
sorry
