100NL, flopped a Set on a ugly board

Villian is pretty TAG pf postflop somwhat aggro. Jus won a big pot so assume hes pretty steamy..

I have about 122, villian is around 90ish..
Hero has 33 pots it to 3, he re-raises to 9, i just called.
Flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
I checked, he pots to 17, I c/r to 44, he calls.
Turn 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] He checks, I insta checked, hoping to get filled here.

No way do I pot him on a 5, but you really never know against an aggressive opponent who you said was steaming. I would call there too, your beating SO MANY hands.

your action is confusing but w/e easy call. i like betting turn too tho, checking behind hoping to fill up is just silly

You had said your opponent had around $90. Assuming that, the pot should be roughly $106 so he has committed $53 and only has $37 left behind? I think its an insta-call, even if he was deep, I'd make that call but if he was real deep and the pot wasnt chk raised, you could maybe fold to protect your stack.

Use a hand converter next time.

If you are asking this question, you probably shouldn't be playing HU NL100 or anything where the max buy in is > $10.

Dude, be nice! His HH is fine and it's not bad question, doesn't matter NL10 or NL100.

Kosher , it's people like you that turn posters away from this forum . You've never contributed anything of value in this forum so it's best you stay away from here .

Villain has like 1/2 pot left after flop right? Just stick him in on turn. On the insane off-chance he has a 5 or is lucky enough to have a higher set, well then [censored] him. But his range is much more likely Ax so just get it in there.

Especially assuming the K isn't a spade. If he has a 5 here, oh well, but you are getting like 3:1 if the stack sizes are correct and there's a LOT of hands he's doing this with that has no 5.

EDIT: Actually Sphere's analysis of the turn play looks better. I think I'm getting it in on the turn, since A5 or X5ss are the only X5 hands that make sense here and you are getting paid off by all kinds of AX hands against a lot of opponents at 100NL.

Im sorry if what i said was a bit blunt but I am not trying to be mean. Maybe it was a little sarcastic. I do think that what i said is good advice for the OP.

Jayshark - chill.

InstaCall... You have a set. HU this is insanely strong. This combined with the fact that you have a significant amount of money committed to the pot means that villain needs to have a straight a high percentage of the time to make this a fold.

Obviously he had a straight this time or else you probably wouldn't be posting it. Try not to be results orientated. As played this is an easy call.

FWIW i agree with everybody else. You should just stick it in on turn.

I apologize for I what i said was a bit prickish - I don't like it when people don't use hand converters. Read the FAQ about posting. Its stickied in every forum.
