Going to see Swedens best band ever!
 

Yes dat's right. I'm off to Stockholm (That's the capitol of Sweden for you non educated moerans) to see kent. They only held 1 concert in Sweden since i started listening to them 2 years ago, and that i missed cause of some stupid reason. So i'm pretty excited. Therefore i give you "Heavenly Junkies" and "747" with kent:

edit: I feel like asshat for saying this but Kent has somewhat overstayed their welcome, their last album wasnt close to their earlier stuff, and their fanbase is VERY MEH and that sorta puts down the band itself imo.

The best, however, is ASTEROID. They are fairly new, so few will have heard of them. They are Sabbath meets QotSA.

Honeydrips have made the best swedish song this year imo.

TTA (The Tough Alliance) took some time to grow into for me, but they are really good. Only found a live video, studio material is better.

Broder Daniel are amazing (as long as you're not afraid to let your inner angst-ridden teenage girl out).

Anna Ternheim, with a BD cover.

Robyn, has come a long way from her debut.

The Plan, their second album was really disappointing, but the first one is great.

First time I've heard the english version of "Heavenly Junkies", holy crap the lyrics are cramped. Swedish version for comparison, pretty sure you can hear the difference even if you don't understand the words. English "747" is decent, even if it's not as good as the original.

In all seriousness, my favorite album so far this year (and of the last couple years) is Jens Lekman's "Night Falls over Kortedala." Really great, funny pop music. My favorite track is A Postcard to Nina, but I couldn't find a good video for that, so here's another track off the record.

I also am a big fan of the Shout Out Louds that PJ mentioned above.

One more Swedish guy I discovered this year is Jose Gonzalez. Here he is covering another Swedish band, The Knife. Heartbeats.

Everyone should really check out Blackwater Park, their most accessible album. Bleak, Harvest, Dirge for November are amazing.
