HSP Suggestions

Why doesn't HSP provide the following:

Amounts won / lost graphic for the season and all seasons combined.
VPIP & PFR for all sessions played.
Raw internet subscription feed of all hands played.

Re: HSP Suggestions

1) show all the hole cards
2) shut Gabe up sometimes so we can hear the table talk
3) win/loss amounts, per show; I'm sure people here will total those up every which way
4) better onscreen graphics showing more info

I'm sure all of us would love to see all the hands with all the hole cards. Doubt it will ever happen though.

Raise the blinds to 600/1200 with a 200 ante (bare minimum at all times) My only suggestion. Blinds of 300/600 are too low now.

change the studio to one similar to poker after dark so that they can play more hands in the given time. don't they play like 1 hand every 15 mins or something on hsp? more hands = more interesting situations.

Re: HSP Suggestions

I say lower the blinds to 50/100/200 no ante.

I think playing more within the players bankrolls will allow for much more action. Players would be more likely to make moves and bluffs.

Re: HSP Suggestions

PLO wouldn't work. It would be AI every hand with alot of hands being chopped due to multiple runnings.

OP's suggestions 1 and 3 are good though.

Re: HSP Suggestions

I'd like to see the stack sizes of players during hands. Since not all hands are aired, the stack size of a player jumps up and down between two aired hands and when someone bets, you don't know if it's 1/10th of his stack or half his stack.

Graphically, it could be easily done, just show a number below or above the hole cards.

You serious? Leveling?

Did you see HSP at all this season? The action looks like a play money table.

Apart from that, the players on HSP aren't adjusting their moves and bluffs to the size of the blinds, so lowering the blinds wouldn't change anything anyway.. that's just ridiculous.

Re: HSP Suggestions

The best thing the should could do is post the number of hands played through the day, and that way you know how many hands had been delt, how long they have played for.

So you would have an index of the show and season.
eg ep12 hand number -368 Patrick Antonius vs Jamie Gold.

How about releasing extended versions on DVD and maybe have double as many hands... actually then they would only have 14 hands - better make it triple.

the amount of commercials is ABSURD. and yeah the sammy/gold AA KK hand was interesting, but seriously, the first 20 minutes of the episode devoted to that? i cant STAND listening to Gold talk and thats all this episode was.

im be happier with out any announcers. but i think the general public wouldnt be able to watch just listening to them talk

Re: HSP Suggestions

theyve greatly improved from last season regarding the announcers blabbing during the hands and focusing more on what the players are saying...good for that.

speaking of the announcers, gabe is awesome, but AJ benza is a complete moron. from his stupid comments to that same tan suit from 1990 that he wears on EVERY episode this season, i just cant stand him!!!!!!! get rid of him!!!!!!!

they should also have more episodes; theres only 5 more episodes left this season. maybe they should have 2 tapings per year...theres obviously ridiculous demand for this show...just look at the 50+ pages on 2p2 after each episode.

would LOOOOOOVE to see a post-match commentary from the players themselves. would love to have known what sammy was thinking for checking the river with AA. or what the other players thought of that or any other eventful hand played during the episode.

That wouldn't be an issue as long as the players are deep-stacked. In fact, the blinds should be lowered to 200/400 (no ante), since PLO pots tend to be bigger than NLHE at the same stakes.

With deep stacks and the pot-limit restriction, there should be plenty of room for play.

PLO is a naturally exciting game, and there won't be a need for bounties or terrible players to keep the game action-packed.

The only impediment is this: Will the audience be overwhelmed by the number of cards?

3 6 1200 PLO would be sick. I'd also like to see 4 or 5 episodes of a Big Mixed Game like they play at the Belagio. Maybe jack it up to 6/12k with a 150k cap.

Make them play PLO but show in TV only the two cards that play in a certain hand, if the hand goes to showdown. If the hand doesn't go to showdown, show two random cards from players' hand. Should be fun.

That's was really funny.

I hope to God some ignorant TV producer isn't in charge of deciding what cards are "in play."

If you have a good PLO hand, all four of your cards will be "in play," meaning relevant to the play of the hand.

Example:

Flop 6H 7H As
Hand 5c 8s 9H QH

Thus, you have a "wrap" straight draw + flush draw. If you take out one of the cards, you'll lose either the "wrap" or the flush draw, or both.

So making the cards easier to comprehend would have to involve something other than omitting cards. Maybe they can use highlights to indicate made hands and other effects to indicate draws or redraws.

In any case, they gotta show all the cards.
Imagine if they were playing 2-7 draw but the TV only showed three cards!
