Re: stupid spot with QQ

I think I just call and fold if the TAG pushes. Calling from you should look very strong, the fish maybe has AA/KK after the cold call but I take my chances.

I usually play live, so take this with a grain of salt, but... tricky spot, with no history I make a crying fold. I just can't think of anything you are ahead of here except for AK or AJ from a balsy/stupid SB. If you call, I expect an insta push from the CO.

Look forward to reading other ideas on it.

Xtwalker- A SB fish can have as little as Jx here fwiw (with x usually being T+) or a straight draw. No way is a nitty TAG raising you without the goods. Call/fold is the line.

Call fold is definitely correct.

Really dont like 4bet pre, and if I was playing my best Id just fold the flop the first chance i get

You have to call here.

tannenj 11-16-2007 03:07 PM

Re: stupid spot with QQ

can the 4bettors elaborate? is this to isolate the fish? if the tag jams we have to call, right?

philipsaurus 11-16-2007 03:13 PM

Re: stupid spot with QQ

i dont like 4betting here.

id call, then fold to nit shove. those kinds of guys wont be shoving AK there with the sb in there (even though he has decent equity even if fish has a pair). it would suck if he had KQ and you folded, but not all nits even 3ball KQ pf.

Triumph36 11-16-2007 03:19 PM

Re: stupid spot with QQ

i like a 4 bet pre. there's a ton of dead money in the pot, and you are probably ahead of the fish.

as played call/fold. you are in a [censored] spot here nontheless - how do you expect to profit significantly from this hand, as played? nittag isn't c-betting without a hand, so most times you are giving 4 free cards to 2 players to beat you. GL.

Thanks for the info. I know online plays differently than live, but I couldn't imagine seeing that play (call two raises from SB then push any J) in a live game more than once a month. Maybe AJ, but certainly not JT, JQ, or JK.

Vs. fish heads up, I would snapcall. But with the nit 3bettor to act behind me on this board, I'd fold.

if you're playing 22/18, you're ahead if his 3-betting range.
just 4 bet and get it in here, especially since you're oop on the flop.

Re: stupid spot with QQ

i know i'm ahead of his 3betting range. but what's relevant is his range for continuing after i 4bet.

its pretty much all in time after you 4 bet. i'd imagine AK+.
