The fact that he has so little behind just seriously [censored] me over. How is my raise on flop?

Its too small. Also if you think your JJ is good on that flop, you should have 4betted pre.

Any reads on villain? This is a [censored] spot v. an unknown, but I probably just shove the flop. I'm not happy about it though.

EDIT: To clarify, I meant 3-bet shove over his raise not open-shove of course. That would be gross.

I raise it to $9 on the flop. This guy is a short stack, so if he has anything, he'll probably get it in on the flop. Most of the time, this is a draw, so you want to pound him while you're ahead and don't give him the odds to draw out on you.

Re: I play JJ so bad

I think you're WA/WB on the turn, which makes his short stackedness kind of a pain in the ass. I don't think anyone really takes this line with a FD, so you're either looking at an A10ish hand or trips. If he was deeper, I'd call it and look at the river. As is, though, I don't think you made a terrible play. He was going in on the river regardless, in all likelihood.

Re: I play JJ so bad

you were 3bet out of the blinds by a player at $25nl who showed continuous aggression. Reads would help but I'm generally flatting the flop in position and folding to a turn shove/large bet.

Wow, that is a huge piece of information that you forgot to include.

You definitely want to get it in against this guy. Given this info, I raise to 8.50 on the flop and shove over his turn bet.

Re: I play JJ so bad

50/43.75/2.80 over 35 hands - acehud hadn't gotten the info yet so he was unknown when I played the hand.

4bet unknown with JJ? Doesn't sound like a good idea.
Though obviously, if I knew his stats I would have.

BigPhish 11-14-2007 04:32 PM

Re: I play JJ so bad

knowing his stats, yeah, 4bet preflop.

not knowing his stats you either think you're good or not on the flop. you obviously think you're good so raise more than you did. it's all gettting in by the river anyway.

even without the hud popping up, did you not see him raise alot pf? thats a goddamn maniac right there. I would have noticed it after 1.5 orbit.

Re: I play JJ so bad

Like i said. If you think JJ is good enough to raise on that flop, then you should have 4balled pre. If you think 4balling is not a good option vs unknown, then flop raise is a bit spewey IMO.

I disagree with that completely. Flop texture is a huge part of when I lead on the flop.

Re: I play JJ so bad

Well, name me a hand he can get value from? Also he did not lead, he raised.

Who cares. You got it in with an overpair vs. a 50% vpip idiot. No major leak here.

I usually 6-table, I don't pay too much attention to players unless they are in huge pots with an incredibly bad play. I suppose this isn't good but that's why I have hud.

It's quite normal to see people 3betting with AK/AQ/and occasionally AJ on NL25. I'm not folding to 2 $ bet in a 6$ pot with JJ on a T-high board. That'd be extremely weak-tight.

Sure, knowing his stats I played it decent. But we have to assume he's unknown since I was not sitting on his stats when playing the hand.

Then why the hell did you post the stats?

Because stats were asked for? Surely I should have mentioned he was unknown to me in the same post as I pasted the stats, but there's no need to come in here and be so bloody aggressive without even coming with feedback.

Re: I play JJ so bad

I did not say you should fold, i said there is no value in raising..
