things at the gym you hate to do (but know are good for you)
here is my list (add to it as much as you like)
ring dips tabata rowing L-pullups double unders burpees heavy thrusters that is all i can think of for now. my new gym theory--if you hate doing it then it is guaranteed to be the best thing for you to do. btw my list has changed and used to include overhead squats, regular pullups, situps, and heavy deadlifts. now i look forward to all of these.......sick i know. cheers. J. agree? disagree? |

my new gym theory--if you hate doing it then it is guaranteed to be the best thing for you to do. [/ QUOTE ] this is usually pretty accurate, but i actually enjoy doing squats and deadlifts these days. however, i do hate doing seated rows, and i know those are really good for you... |

Suitcase deadlifts. Anything abs. [/ QUOTE ] DF, good one, but i have limited experience with the suitcase deads, mostly because i thought they were brutal. ab work is ok for me for the most part, except knees to elbows hanging from a pullup bar make me want to cry when they have to be done for any sort of volume. [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img] J. [/ QUOTE ] Ooh that's one of my favorite things these days! Mmm I guess I hate good mornings. Also grip work. I pretty much love everything except stuff that feels like it's going to injure me which is a lot these days. Bench press is one of the worst for me right now cuz I feel like I'm gonna hurt myself rather than work the muscle which is a [censored] feeling. |
Re: things at the gym you hate to do (but know are good for you)
dips, I [censored] hate dips
I'm surprised nobody wrote cardio, I hate [censored] running on a treadmill or an elliptical like a [censored] hamster in a cage. jesus christ just tilts me thinking about tomorrow morning. |

I'm surprized nobody mentioned stretching. That's by far my least favorite part of a session.
[ QUOTE ] I dont hate anything except military press. Makes my neck stiff or something. Never did like doing them. [/ QUOTE ] I used to hate any shoulder/over-the-head exercises cause they made my neck really stiff and I would get headaches and nausea. I don't get that anymore. Maybe it's because I started stretching my traps after each exercise. |

[/ QUOTE ] surf, try and do ring dips and then go back to regular dips and you will love them. i actually look forward to regular dips now. as far as cardio goes (if you are talking about the moderate intensity 30 to 45 min type) then use a video ipod and watch something good. seriously i look forward to some daily cardio just as a break and a way to catch up on some good tv or a movie on the small screen.
