Realistic/sustainable winrate for live midstakes limit.

Just a question, my last two outing to midstakes limit holdem I have run fairly well, ~15-20bb/hr. I was just wondering of this is realistic and sustainable for limit and what you guys think is the norm.

yeah 20BB/h in limit should be sustainable

You are running sickly-hot, enjoy it while it lasts. If you play really well, you can make over 2BB/hr in the LR. That's the best of the best.

Yeah this is what a few of my friends have told me, I have played twice in this 15/30 game for a total of about 15 hours and it seems I already have made a name for myself as the guy who runs hotter than god. Its a full kill game btw, when you say 2bb, is that 2 big blinds or 2 big bets?

Big bets, but frankly I don't know how kill affects that.

About -5BB/Hr, and getting worse.

Please tell me you are not that retard that had the "more annoying than Humberto's m-effin chark" mechanical bee in the Bellagio $15-30 this weekend. If you are that dude, look forward to losing 2BB an hour once variance catches up to you.

Re: Realistic/sustainable winrate for live midstakes limit.

I made 110BB in my first 2 sessions (10h total) on 15/30.
Since then meh.

Won 40BB in 1.5h on 6/12 last night. Nice after being card dead for two weeks.

On 6/12 was about 1.25BB/h for the 5 months I played that almost exclusively this year.

Its + on 15/30 but only because of the sick hot start. Breeds over confidence. Look out.

Ahem.

When someone tells me they are good at poker, "they win all the time," I ask them their expectation and standard deviation.

The Kill increases the stakes, making games have a higher expectation.

I never thought about it that way, since I ran at 2.4 BB/hour at the Casino AZ 8/16 game for a 300+ hour sample. But it is a full kill game, so yeah, that must change it, whereas it might really be 2.25 or something without the kill.

Re: Realistic/sustainable winrate for live midstakes limit.

It really depends on the game. I try to make a decent per-hour profit, regardless of where I am playing. For instance, in the 5/10 Omaha 8/OB Kill game at the Mirage, I ended up winning about 600 dollars.

So, if I work that out, I think I'm getting a great ROI (Return on investment) Now, that's a good session, and obviously variance will catch up, but basically I look at it like this - If you are making 5x the Big Blind/Hr in profit, you are at a good game.
