Stars account hacked

Hi,

my pokerstars account got hacked. I lost 100k in 2 hours.

Strange things:

1. My email address associated with my PokerStars account has been changes on 3.NOV.07 to some @yahoo.com address.

2. Why would someone with access over my computer change the email address? Why they did'nt login directly?

3. There is no money left on my other accounts (NT;PP;FTP etc)? Why wouldn't they just rip em off as well?

4. I think email address change was done in order to retrieve passwords+secure ID via "Forgot Password" field

5. All mone dropped to H0tsh0t111' and 'peej-eh'

Here are my questions:

**Did anyone experience something like and and how are my chances of getting my money back? I have never played NoLimit before and I would not drop 100k grand in 2 hours. It is crystal clear that this is a fraud.

**Does anyone know these Players or seen them playing on 11.NOV or 12.NOV ? Maybe they dropped it further to someelse.

Thank you very much. Any help appreicated

Could someone confirm that or even send MOMRE hand histories to me?

If this is a serious thread and not a joke, then call Stars ASAP and tell them.

I suggest that you post this in the Internet Gambling forum.

I'd like to apologize for this incomplete oeverview of my issue. The issue became really big and lots of PokerStars officials called me. I had no time to translate all of it into english, but I will do later.

There are some things which went wrong with the pokerstars support.

For example: Star security representative Tuan told me that there was no chip dumping....

look at sharkscope for ID "iravastefan"
my ID "loco90"

Here is the german thread. I got close to 50.000 hits in one day:

Wow getting real sick now. First time I have spoken to TUAN ( security director or something) who told me that "special hand history investigation team" found no CHIPDUMPING.

Today I received a call from him and he told me that there was CHIPDUMPING involved. lol

This was something which I've found out with a 3-minute-search on sharkscope.

Re: Stars account hacked

Back in the late '90s I played a ton of chess on yahoo, and ID hacking was very big back then, and this was just for the name of the ID, and maybe the stats or ranking. If that happened on yahoo for a dumb chess name, think of how much effort people are putting into accounts with 10s of thousands of dollars in them. Yes I understand that online poker is much more secure then yahoo chess was back in the late 90s, but you need to protect your assetts better then an 8 digit alphanumeric password...

Due to paranoia, I have just created a new batch of online passwords...

I make them by mashing my keyboard. Like this: 'q45bg7076q5npdils'. Now I am off to memorise them.

(The above is not my password)

Do you think hackers could create an algorithm for keyboard mashing? Much like the algorythm for corwd movement?

Actually, I think so. There is going to be a lot of correlation between the different characters in your password.

Here's an example. I type on a dvorak keyboard. Here's the home row:

aoeui dhtns

Now, if I mash the keyboard, I'm going to find that these characters tend to come out next to each other:

la,9gspdisaro;h
sanoctuia s\,o
asnotueis\

My 2nd and 3rd attempts, for example, are surprising similar, and you can see a tremendous correlation to the keys in the home row. A hacker who knew that this was how you generated your password would actually have a lot of information to start with. The "sano" combination appearing so frequently is due to my mashing technique, which is to roll both of my hands from the outside of the keyboard toward the middle. I'd guess this would be pretty common, as it's much more natural then the reverse.

It feels random, but it really isn't at all.

good luck.
Eric
