Las Vegas Casino implosion in 2.5 hours

Anyone have a line on a good place to watch the implosion? The 11PM news said don't bother coming down, just stay home and watch it on tv. But I was thinking the Wynn parking garage. Any better ideas?

FAR away unless you want to breath in dust and who knows what else that will fly into the air thats been sitting in the building for the past 20 years. I think a lot of LV locals learned their lessons after the Stardust, implosions are best watched on TV - stay away!

WEIRD - I just opened this thread at 2:11 AM PST, and seconds later hear a 'BOOM' a short distance away......i live near the strip....

Now is that timing or what?

Transfer is coming through at only 35kbits/sec right now. It's terribly choppy but the audio is there, go figure.

This was from running it in IE. I switched to Firefox and it auto loads into Media player, getting 295kbits/sec now. transfer is smooth, implosion in 3 minutes

That was one awesome display and finale!!! Very creative if I do say so as well. HAHAHA at the guys on top of Wynn parking garage and I hope you brought dust masks or something. Geezus, they're going to have fun cleaning the Wynn and Encore towers off too lol.

The count down and plunger done in fireworks on the side of the building was a pretty cool idea, their timing was a little off though.

It turns out that's good advice TT. Luckily for me they closed down the strip in front of the Wynn so I couldn't get to the self park. And the vantage I found was up-wind so I didn't get the dust. Here are some pictures I took.

I thought it was standard to have all the windows removed before doing this. I'm pretty sure Stardust windows were all gone. Love a good implosion, though.

And there goes the last place (to my knowledge) that had machines that actually paid in coins!

I won like $25 worth of quarters playing there before a pre WSOP party in 06...good times.

Silverton? That place is squeaky clean, everything is so new. That surprises me.

There are at least 2 rows of VP machines in front of the restaurant that is under construction that have a plaque on them that says "This machine dispenses coins only" and have no ticket dispenser on them. I'm sure there are others, actually I believe there are some of the older VP machines closer to the buffet entrance of the casino as well. The place is under massive construction now with the expansion getting under way. Fenced off parking lot, sports book/bar relocated, big wall in front of the poker room with a cutout for a door and no signage, ect..

Payback is a bitch. Steve imploded Desert Inn and covered his neighbors with crap. Now he gets to break out the squeegees.

Foxwoods had machines that paid out in coins, at least as of 2005. Once, while I was waiting for a friend, I decided to play a few spins on a $1 slot, because I hate money. I put in a $100 bill, lost a few bucks, and hit cash out with a balance of about $95. To my dismay, the machine spat out 95 dollar tokens. (Except in the Caribbean, I'd never seen a slot that actually paid out in cash.)
