what are you worried about? QJ Q10? I think KQs, AQs, AKs, 9's and j's are all reasonable.

I can't find a fold here for sure... and I might be raising this.

Re: 50NL sick river

We have the third nuts (QJ, Q10). I'm not worried about anything except getting my money in as quickly as possible here.

Re: 50NL sick river

You just housed up on river aginst a player who bet 50 cent into a an 8 dollar pot on the flop. Push all-in and watch him show AK.

Re: 50NL sick river

Uhh....Raise.

He could possibly have QT,but that's really it as far as hands that beat you.

Re: 50NL sick river

You really think KQ/AK minbet/calls the flop? and limps preflop?
also 9s and Js would not limp pre and then minbet/call on this drawy of a flop.
Also why would a str8 bet so big on this scarry of a river, makes no sense imo.

Re: 50NL sick river

All in. Plenty of donks stacking off with worse hands.

Re: 50NL sick river

Why am i betting at a 4straight turn w/ 2 pair? If im doing that I might as well be betting turn with air as a bluff b/c thats esentially what my hand is at that point.

Have you noticed you have a full house?

Obviously raising here is terribly standard

Re: 50NL sick river

The kid seems a total clown to bet 50 cent on the flop so he seems more than capable of calling the flop raise with a gutshot and then checking the made straight for you to bet.

bigjared 11-12-2007 05:36 PM

Re: 50NL sick river

turn check is fine

I think AK AQ KQ of clubs are all hands that could take his line and are all hands that you beat. Also you are forgetting about 99 and JJ, more likely 99. Not unreasonable for him to slow play a set on the flop, check the dangerous turn and then try to get value from whoever has the straight.

Ah checking the turn is fine....didn't realize the 4 straight was actually.

Still should raise river.

he bets turn a lot with a straight no? And river bet size is POT, do you really think that villans at 50NL are this incompetient to bet pot on the river with a straight?

Dr_Doctr 11-12-2007 05:41 PM

Re: 50NL sick river

Anyone who considers just calling the river in this hand against an unknown NL50 donk is seriously weak-tight and needs to work on it.

No, I'm saying if I have a K i bet turn and probably bet smaller than pot size on the river.

Re: 50NL sick river

well you arent him, you cant base it on what you would do...

you raised the flop, he calls with his possible straight draw, he hits and checks to you expecting you to bet. but to his dismay you check behind so he bets big on the river to get back value. so you value shove him

or, he has TT, you raise the flop and he calls with his straight draw. but he turns his set and hes uncomfortable with it. rivers his full house and wants to valuetown your Q. but you have the better boat, so you value shove him.

both perfectly reasonable scenarios

and yes some players (the ppl with very small PFR stats) will limp/call TT PF

Everyone runs bad. It helps if you're over-rolled. Actually I've found this to be the most effective method of tilt-prevention. Try it if you havn't already - it really helps me at least. And not raising (or looking hard for reasons not to raise) this river for value is almost certainly an instance of tilt resulting from your poor run. Move down to where you have 30 buyins+ if you havn't already. It may decrease your EV a little but it should help immensely psychologically. I know that my game improved a lot when I tried it.

Absolutely, people will PSB here with the straight. I don't even find it incompetent. Sets will still call.

Your boat CRUSHES the range here.

Honestly, I find your preflop a bit loose, and you didn't have stats on others. So it's hard to see QT which is the only hand that beats you that make sense. QJ should have raised again on the flop.

I hope you didn't fold.

Re: 50NL sick river

Nah I pushed and he flipped QT, IMO the only other boat that makes sense.

Just the same as KK vs AA. Shrug and move on.

I find his preflop play a bit odd to end up with QT here, but as I posted, it's the only logical hand that beats you.

Push was good.

Raise the flop to $9.5 and obvious shove on the river.
