Villain is 32/12/1.59 over 600 hands. only note is a hand where he 3 bet my tug in blinds, i 4 bet AK. he called and open shoves j73 all clubs, i had to fold

given i checked flop, check back turn also?

Re: 10/20 getting crai on turn when i hit tp2k

yuck pretty gross spot I think I fold

I also like checking back turn bc betting the turn does not get value from many hands where I feel like a river bet better extracts from the hands we beat, also you don't have that many cards to worry about so betting to protect your hand really isnt an issue.

yeah i like a turn check

as played, bleh i think i call. specific reads/game flow would sway me either way

hmm I feel like checking the turn is being a bit results oriented, cause this guys stats seem to indicate he is a bit of a station. I think it is an easy turn fold tho

Re: 10/20 getting crai on turn when i hit tp2k

Fold. 30/10's almost never do this with draws. I think your play up to the turn is good.

Re: 10/20 getting crai on turn when i hit tp2k

hes not calling 2 bets with any hand we beat, so checking turn allows us to

A. Disguise our hand
B. let him bluff river w/. hands he would not calla bet w/
C. Get value from more hands on river (imo)

lol@ checking the turn. dont be results oriented, which may not even be the case since we are certainly good here a ton.

i'd call the raise too, but i wouldnt be all that happy about it.

but this doesn't disguise our hand, it tells our opponent we have a decent made hand (i.e one pair), we'd bet this card all day with air.

ah you're right

but dont the other 2 factors make checking and betting pretty close?

Really? I wouldn't expect to try to bluff us off our "obvious AK", so I assume this is for value.

disagree, this is one of the very few spots where I feel fine with a B/F for value.

hmm im thinking this is a call actually if the villain is more aggro at 32/21

i dont like the flop check but given that I would say check back turn as well.

as played I think it's clear you hit your ace and so it's a fold seeing as his AF isn't high and from the game flow he's not expecting you to fold an A after he pushed you out of that 4bet pot earlier.

yeh not quite a snap call, but i think we have to call here, we even beat some of his value-raising range.

btw we've gotta try and cut down on these results orientated threads where ppl say check turn etc because we got c/r and put in a tough spot, i've noticed quite a few similar recently.

Re: 10/20 getting crai on turn when i hit tp2k

Eh I would check back turn and fold to the shove since I did bet. No way he has air/weaker made hand enough. 1.59 AF over 600 hands, he unlikely to show up with a bluff/semibluff enough imo. I check back turn here cos I think you get a lot more value on the river, and you rarely have 2 streets of it.

Re: 10/20 getting crai on turn when i hit tp2k

turn bet makes no sense to me....and that's not results oriented...

leading the ace makes no sense for him to do either, so i think it's a fold

edit: leading turn ace for him makes no sense if he is good(and has a hand).

FoxwoodsFiend 11-13-2007 09:11 PM

Re: 10/20 getting crai on turn when i hit tp2k

obviously history would be nice (like if you've been barreling a lot of aces, how much you've been popping him etc.) but a lot of times you get shown a stupidly played nutflush draw (like pair plus flush draw) that thinks "i don't want to make a tough decision on river, i've probably got outs, and he might fold" and a lot of times you'll just have a guy bluffing because repping the ace is so common these days.

def a call
