The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
For those that care, one reason why I've been gone so long was that I take my poker very seriously. Need time, no tilt, the drive, focus, etc. Today, all factors were there, and it was poker time. So, since I take my poker seriously, here is the most uneasy hand of the session. Not the most exciting hand ever, but this sort of thing is where a lot of bad betting goes a long way to lose moneys. Forgive the cheasy title.
No worthwhile reads. Sorry. PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (9 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 3 folds, Hero raises, 2 folds, Button calls, SB calls, 1 fold. Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
I'll try and answer this very seriously.
Check the turn. Bet if checked to on the river. |
Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
you can either b/f or check behind and call a river bet, imo
|
Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
this thread is too serious....needz a lolcat or internet is serios business pic
oh and I agree with the green elephant. I'd probably show some variation here...sometimes bet sometimes check...it depends, seriously. welcome back from ur short hiatus btw. |

Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
In all seriousness, I would make a legendary check and return to the betting past if checked to on the river.
|
Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
Check turn to induce a river bluff and to avoid a c/r bluff. The pot is small, you won't give up much if ahead. If Hero is ahead, villain probably has very few outs.
On the other hand, a worse J or PP could call-down. |
Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
A check is only legendary or heroic if your villain has a head on his shoulders. Against an unknown at these stakes, I value bet like a pro. Then I value bet the river.
|
Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
With no reads, I'd probably fire the second bullet. I'd check behind against laggier opponents.

lol this looks so much like Ben it's not even funny. Forget what Ben's 2p2 name is though. (and I hope I actually got ben's name right!) |
Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
I'd bet/fold too. No reads anyway, so go for value bet
|
Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
Whuh?! at all the check turn advice. Villain is unknown. This is .25/.5. So he's probably way loose. Bet.
|
Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
I'd bet as well, and the river too. Don't fear the ace, unless he raises you, then it's an easy fold...
And if he bluffraised you and you bailed, all the power to him, but that doesn't happen too often at .25/.50. |

Gotcha. Tempban.

Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
Perhaps I'm missing something, but isn't this is a no brainer? Bet. Why were you considering the check? Some way ahead/behind type thing?
If this is your most uneasy hand of the session it must have been rather dour. |
Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
Whatever you do, you need to bet the river. He won't bet so-so hands, but he will call with them (i.e., an inferior J or some pp like 99).
|
Re: The Legend of Poker: A Return to the Past
checking anywhere is terrible
bet turn bet river get paid by gutshots and weaker Js. if you are raised let it go. |
