400NL AKs in BB vs UTG raise from regular

Villain is a regular (and a winner). $16 is his standard opening raise.

He is VP$IP 14.46% / PFR% 8.63% / WtSD 20.63% / WaSD 56.83 / BB/100 +6.38 over 5,000 hands

His UTG raise range is probably 99+, AQs+. I say that bc PT shows he's limped with 22 and 88 UTG but not raised with it. He's raised with TT UTG.

Comments on all streets welcome.

I would lead or check-raise the flop. You bet turn to slowdown sets and fold out TT/JJ?

Either bet/3bet or c/r flop.

As played I wouldn't lead turn.

i considered CR on the flop but I don't agree with "prepare to shove". Look at villains stats and UTG range.

With villain's PF range so small, I don't think 3 bet PF OOP is a good play. See a flop and take it from there I think.

Due to villain's range, I like leading the turn. AA - JJ hate this board. Villain is good. I don't spew, I think he know's that.

Turn bet/fold is pretty terrible.

ck raise the flop...put villain to the test.

op, if roles were reversed in this situation would you be thrilled to get a ck raise and happy to get it in with TT+ on this flop?

Yes it is.

I don't like c/r on flop either because it leaves you in an awkward spot. If he pushes you have to call and are prob about even vs his range (like say sets, 99, QQ+) - not bad but not great either. And if he flat calls it puts you in an awkward spot on the turn if you are UI.

For me its either b/3b on flop or c/c then c/r ai on turn.

Re: 400NL AKs in BB vs UTG raise from regular

i just think that with a tight player like this one, this is the one of those rare moments where u can raise his flop without a set. I think it's important to do that even if he does have AA or KK most of the time here...
