Quitin time for Doyle

I read Doyles section on NL Holdem in Super System some time ago. I was surprised how out of touch with todays game a lot of his views were.

Watching him play that hand against Jamie Gold just confirms that the man should give it up. He was either playing above his bankroll or just plain scared, neither of which works in poker.

As a result; an obvious clown with who should have gone bust, gets away with it.

Re: Quitin time for Doyle

imo i think it could have gone either way. jamie really thought he had doyle crushed and with all of that chatter he was begging for a call or a reraise so easy fold for d. however seeing the cards and knowing how jamie plays, its easy to say d should have called. but its deep stack poker that they are playing and very early in the session. give jamie enough time, he'll hand himself in a bluff for even more money. amzing how patience is something that no one has online but all of the tried and try old school players have (doyle, chip, barry, todd, etc...)

plus with the looks of the upcoming show next week, they make it look like gold did just that, hang himself against pa...can't wait to see what really happened

i dont know why doyle is betting the turn just to fold to a raise. with that mind set, he should just check behind and call a river bet by gold.

Thanks for showing us the light and outing doyle as the "obvious clown" that he really is. I'm off to bellagio right now to clean up off that fish now. No stakes are too high with a fish that big, I'll be +1,000,000 by tomorrow for sure.

The 'obvious clown' refers to Jamie. Pay attention when you read.

Re: Quitin time for Doyle

Super System 2 (NLHE section) is clearly a joke or an attempt to hide his current playing style, and yes he played meh in the HSP episodes, but the fact that you think it's time for him to quit just shows how good he is at outplaying you.

did you read the original SS? his style has always been the same, he's not trying to hide anything.
