What would it take to achieve supernova elite on stars?

Suppose one were to play four games of 3-6 limit holdem. How many hours a day would one have to play to become a supernova elite on stars? Can anyone back of the envelope this for me? Do I have to play 24 games at once to get supernova elite, or is it possible for a mere grinder to get it?

How about 40 hours a week of six-tabling NL? At what level would one have to play to achieve supernova (sans the elite)?

sans means without.

actually, you'd probably have to play NL50. NL25 might be close.

supernova is easy. even at 100nl you can easily make it in a few months.

Re: What would it take to achieve supernova elite on stars?

To achieve supernova you need something like:
300 days of 333 VPP/day
or
250 days of 400 VPP/day

From the old VPP/hd thread OntarioTory reported 0.127 VPP/hand at NL25 full-ring.

If one gets 63 hands per hour per table then this is 8 VPP/hr.
Remember, we need 333 VPP's day so this is roughly 42 table-hours.

8 hours of 6 tabling = 48 table-hours
6 hours of 8 tabling = 48 table-hours
4 hours of 11 tabling = 44 table-hours

So getting 100k VPP's at NL25 full-ring is possible but it's a lot of work.
I assume one gets more points at NL25 6-max.
Even if it's only 10VPP per table-hour that would cut into the total number of hours quite a bit.

Re: What would it take to achieve supernova elite on stars?

Bob's special Supernova Elite calculation for NL25 players.

348 days of playing 13 hours on 24 tables of 6-max should get you there if my estimate of 10VPP/hr on NL25 6-max is correct.
It actually needs to be 12 'true' hours of 24-tabling so I'm increasing the requirement to 13 total hours to account for various tables opening and closing and this would essentially also mean that you practically never time-out.

Good times.

u get less vpps at 6max nl than at 9max nl

But you get more hands per hour.
I admit I haven't looked at exactly how many points you get though.

someone should make a calculator for this stuff.

Re: What would it take to achieve supernova elite on stars?

Supernova vanilla, NL full ring

NL50: 35,500 hands per month
NL100: 19,500 hands per month
NL200: 13,000 hands per month

Supernova elite, 10x as many.

Hardly play on Stars, so these are rough figures.

pretty sure this "never time-out" part would never happen as you would be too busy thinking about killing yourself.

You need more hands than that to make Platinum each month, which you need to do to maintain Supernova. Better to just plan for Platinum, and you'll get to SN in 10 months or less. I would estimate closer to 23k hands/month at NL100 FR for Platinum.

Also, is there really that big of a bump between NL100 and NL200 FR? I don't have any stats on other levels.

flight2q 11-07-2007 12:12 PM

Re: What would it take to achieve supernova elite on stars?

Yeah, you need to stay Platinum, at least on and off to maintain Supernova in the next year. Also, after the first 6 months you are back down to Gold/Platinum until you hit your annual 100k VPP. So players can't count on the Supernova 3.5x FPP rate and other benefits throughout the year if they're doing the bare minimum. However, by getting to Supernova, at least one can convert FPP to cash bonus in the VIP store with a better conversion rate than the lower tiers get, much better than the Gold bonus especially.

NL200 does seem to earn VPP at a better clip. Partly it's because if people open with pot-size raise at NL100, get called by BB, and take it down on the flop, then there is no VPP for that hand.

I didn't realize that you have to requalify for Supernova after 6 months. I don't see that on the website.

That must be why I see so many people open for $4 in 100NL. If they get called, and see a flop, the pot is raked enough to get a VPP.

Re: What would it take to achieve supernova elite on stars?

I don't think most people think about that VPP motivation at NL100. Most typical players don't really consider what size pot they need to get a VPP.

Anyone who is bet sizing/calling to get VPPs is definitely welcome anywhere I play

I put in a billion hands during the double VPP period and got like 50k VPP from NL100 that month. It wasn't very fun.

how much vpp do you get for heads up play?
at what level would it be feasible to reach supernova elite 4 tabling these?

so umm whats the difference in rakeback between a standard supernova and a SNE player
$22,500

1M VPP x (5.0 - 3.5) x ($1500 / .1M VPP)

The last factor might be higher if you get the car or something else where the conversion is higher than cash.
