First hand in a HU match
Obviously, I could post this in the Heads Up forum, but I'm not. This is literally our first hand at the table and he is completely unknown to me (no data mined stats, etc).
All converters I know about are being bad / slow / not working. SHOOTAA has 5 seconds left to act SHOOTAA posts the small blind of $3 Villain posts the big blind of $6 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to SHOOTAA [7s 5c] SHOOTAA raises to $18 Villain calls $12 *** FLOP *** [6d 7c 3d] Villain checks SHOOTAA bets $28 Villain calls $28 *** TURN *** [6d 7c 3d] [8h] Villain bets $80 SHOOTAA calls $80 *** RIVER *** [6d 7c 3d 8h] [As] Villain bets $200 SHOOTAA has 15 seconds left to act SHOOTAA has requested TIME Thoughts? Please don't just say call or fold, I would like you to explicate a hand range you put him on by the turn and river bets. Fwiw, the river 200 was bet quickly, if this effects your decision. |
Re: First hand in a HU match
Hands you beat that I think are in his range are like K5d 65/64/69/35/random bluff calling here looks thin.

Re: First hand in a HU match
and add 44/55
|
Re: First hand in a HU match
fold
|
Re: First hand in a HU match
Did villain have a big stack? 100bb? Fold barring something else... if he's bluffing you will be be broke soon.

Re: First hand in a HU match
How many bb does villain have?
I vote fold. If he is bluffing you will have his stack soon. |
Re: First hand in a HU match
I'm just having a very tough time putting him on a hand, it would literally have to be 87, which i think very rarely calls OOP preflop and plays the flop/turn this way, or an AdXd hand that plays the hand this way (no raising as semi-bluff), and quickly value bets the river.
Can anyone name a hand(s) he has that beat us? I may be giving him too much credit for being a decent HU player who knows that there are all small cards out there and that 15 outters are good, but CMON! edit: T9 is about the only hand I can come up with. |

[/ QUOTE ] It definitely can, but I don't think this is one of those spots as its a fairly substantial pot, and I would like to win it for that reason... which I cannot do by folding. |
Re: First hand in a HU match
i think you are beat. missed nutflushdraw (Ace high) 2 pair A6 etc is likely holdings he will be betting river for value with. you dont know anything about him. save the money for a real hand

Re: First hand in a HU match
It looks like a kind of strange line, fits 66, 33, 87, T9. This looks like a legit hand, even if it were a busted flush draw what diamond cards are left that wouldn't hit this board. He could be bluffing KT or something sometimes sure, but eh. I'd fold it 1st hand

Re: First hand in a HU match
With no reads I'd fold quickly.
|
Re: First hand in a HU match
Yeah I would fold pretty quickly, if only for the reason that very few people seem capable of carrying out multi-street bluffs on the first hand of a HU match.
|
Re: First hand in a HU match
There are a million hands he would do this with that you don't beat.

Re: First hand in a HU match
fold. hand range not necessary bc he cannot peel this flop, the board come out like this, and you not be beat...
|
Re: First hand in a HU match
raise or fold, dont call, you're like never ahead here.

Re: First hand in a HU match
since you know nothing about him, his hand range is huge.
also, if he wins a big pot on the first hand that could change the whole dynamic of the match--so if you're just guessing, that's another reason to fold. |
Re: First hand in a HU match
Meh, I called and he has 22, for some nonsense line. I think maybe later in a match its better to try to look someone up here, if at all. First hand dynamics are crazy things though, people.

Re: First hand in a HU match
Still a pretty easy fold imo
|
Re: First hand in a HU match
what about... now?
|
Re: First hand in a HU match
Yes.

Re: First hand in a HU match
can someone explain why it's really unlikely he's bluffing here, i don't get it. Our hand is pretty face up.
