Is ChessExpress on FTP a bot?
 

Feel free to flame away, but I just wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience with chessexpress on FTP:

* Plays 10NL and buys in for $2.
* Has two moves: all-in or fold. Never even completes the small blind.
* If wins an all-in (and always shows down mid to high pairs or AK-AJ), immediately leaves the table

The player multitables, never talks (even when asked if he/she is a bot) and has 7/7/0 stats after about 200 hands I've played against it.

I realize that creating a bot at 10NL seems extremely -EV, but maybe it's someone trying to design a bot and is testing it at low levels? I can't imagine someone not getting bored out of their mind playing the way described above.

If chess express has less than 10k in the FTP account than chess is not a bot.

Incidentally Chess Express was the name of a chess magazine in the 80s which folded after about 3 issues

For sure it is a bot. I created this same design for a CS project in university 5 years ago or so.

The easiest logic is to write a short stack nl bot because there are the fewest variables, and it can play a winning strategy at the low levels just by open shoving AK/AA/KK and QQ and nothing more.

I don't get where you finding -EV in this strategy at $10nl. Your logic is certainly not off that it is impossible for someone to serious play 7/7/0 at $10nl without being a bot.

Watching it now... seems like if its a limped pot and the bot is in the BB it will also push a lot of draws on the flop.

Didn't bother reading anything but the title of this thread but...

Doubt he's a bot as I just clicked on Sunday Mill lobby and saw him in top 50.

he's from the pokerstrategy site as this is the exact sss they teach those slippery germans. they have saturated party and are now spreading their wings

roooooooooofl i have chessexpress down 6 bis over more than 2k hands. buying in for 2 dollars at a time.

he had the nerve to open shove 3 hands in a row and pick up kings when i had queens. cost me two dollars.
