Haven't play much with him but so far hes play very lag but it's very rare to see a flop check behind hu so I was very confused.

When most donkeys take this line its the nuts or nothing. I guess I check/call a non Q/K.

During our hu session he never checked a strong hand behind on the flop.

I think he has a diamond draw here like 300% of the time.

If I haven't seen him do this yet, it seems like c/c the turn would be best.

Probably call + check-call river since Grinder bluffs wayyyyy too often on the river anyway.

Re: 1/2 vs The Grinder

Seemed at time like his most likely hand was diamonds but an offsuit Q hit river and I laid it down. Feel like I should have called. Meh.

I'd call down and after catching him bluffing I'd ask myself why I didn't play it even better by 3betting.

FWIW I was wrong about 300% diamonds. He could also have 22.

this line is [censored] like 95% of the time

[censored] or a semi bluff which is retarded as is because you arent folding because he should know his line looks like he is FOS

I have a question that it is a slight thread hijack, but has anyone here ever used Grinders line, and if so under what circumstances? I used to think this was a fishy line under all circumstances, but I think there are some blind steal situation where it can be applied for various metagame reasons.

most def against a regular or in a HU match for metagame. I'd check a weak top pair / 2nd pair once in a while, then raise or bet a safe turn, otherwise calling down.

also lets discuss how to combat the line. When someone as agressive as Grinder checks behind on this flop and we are fairly sure if we bet he might raise as a pure bluff as often as he might be trapping then is check/calling the turn the best line? Its how I would approach a serious LAG out of position, why not play vs Grinder the same way?

PS: his flop line looks like A2, 22, a hand like 45, or a monster.

It could be 22. So like 300% diamonds, 20% deuces. You don't see a flopped strong hand on this board ever ever ever.

Re: 1/2 vs The Grinder

I hate defending here and I check fold the turn - who's he trying to fool with the flop check? Were you check calling or check raising the flop? I like to check raise but check call has merit too I suppose.
