HSP: Ivey and Reese

Would anyone have any info on why Phil Ivey and Chip Reese either haven't been invited or didn't agree to play? We all sure as hell know they both can afford the half-million dollar buy-in

Re: HSP: Ivey and Reese

Chip is not really a Hold'em player and doesn't really like all the attention.

Ivey was on last season if I remember correctly.

Re: HSP: Ivey and Reese

Well I think it's a fairly safe assumption that these guys aren't absent b/c of a lack of an invite.

Reese is known to be an excellent HORSE player, not a NLHE player.

Disappointing that Phil Ivey and Brian Townsend are not playing. Never expected to see chip in the game though.

Does anyone know how many episodes will be shown with this group?

Daddy Warbucks 11-01-2007 08:28 AM

Re: HSP: Ivey and Reese

17 episodes i think, and i believe there's been 10 shown so far?

Re: HSP: Ivey and Reese

7(ish) episodes of that table will be good. I thought they would hype it up, then hit us with 2 or 3.

Re: HSP: Ivey and Reese

I think Hellmuth said on his blog that Ivey passed the first day of the world series of golf ans that was on the day(s) they recorded HSP.

Here is the quote:

Was I smart enough to go and get some rest afterward shooting all day Monday? Nope, I met up with Russ Hamilton for dinner at the Bellagio. Russ made it through day 1 of the World Series of Golf Monday (as did Phil Ivey), and now we had a nice dinner together along with World Blackjack Champion Ken Einiger (who caddied for Russ). There were 15 players left in the WSOG, and Russ was ready to skate by his threesome the next day, and go right into the finals on NBC.

It's a big game for televised poker, but it's not really a super special game for non-televised poker, so just be happy to see Antonius and some others.
