Home Games around St. Paul, MN

I know we live in a great area to play poker with Canterbury, Treasure Island, and Grand Casino Hinkley all within a reasonable driving distance. But, I was wondering if any 2p2ers had some home games within the area. I would love to play some HORSE, and NL Hold 'Em. (Instead of Fixed or Spread that is normally played in the Casinos.) I can't generate any intrest with my friends so I am looking for a good home game in the area. Anybody looking for someone? I have tried the home game finder web site & craigslist, but I can't find anything. I'm not looking for big stakes, anywhere from a .25/.50 to 1-2 would be great.

Even if I have to host or something, we should get a game going. Where are you located K8? Disclamer though, I really don't have a lot of space to host a game.

Interested myself. I'm from Lakeville, and have a few buddies that would be interested. Nearest game I know from here is Mankato

I live in Lakeville and might be interested. I can't do a regular thing, but every once in a while...
.25/.50 NL and/or 1/2 Horse sounds good.

Caveat: I am old (31).

Old? 31 is pretty young there, kid. I'm 26. I don't care what age people are as long as they are there for two things, one and the most important is to have fun, but the other goal is to still take the game serious.

I am more than willing to drive to Lakeville.

I was just wondering if I should start this thread or if it would be rude. I know of a couple games but would love to connect with a few more in the 50NL - 200NL range. It was hard to get games going during the summer but now that the weather sucks again...

Once I meet you guys and feel confortable that you're not going to murder me and leave me in the trunk of my car in Burnsville, I'd be happy to host a gathering. Plus I don't want to esplain to my wife that I'm inviting interenet strangers over. Because man that sounds weird when you say it out loud.

i just like to play, don't care what stakes. just like to have fun and win a pot here and there.... online is great but it seems like a grind all the time. i play tourneys and cash games with buddies around here, but its always hard to get games going. more spur of the moment thing and stakes range from $5 rebuys to $50 buy ins to $2-$10 spread games. just looking for more games i guess. i did see something on craigslist about a tourney in burnsville, seemed okay but i never made it there. was wednesday nights, something like $20 buy in, unlimited rebuys for 2 hours, $15 donation for food & drinks etc..

I've got a group in minneapolis that plays twice a week .25/.50 NL and PL Omaha. We've usually got a full table but i could throw around the idea of including a bunch of others if we could find a place to have two tables.

If anyone here is interested in getting a game going what nights/days work for you? Time? Lets get something organized. Or if anyone has a home game I would love to go. I swear, you won't end up in the trunk of my car.

Springsteen87, I would love to join your game. I am kind of stuck as to hosting though, because I don't have any free space for a poker table at my house, the best I could do is the neighbor's garage if I could get permission, but it is starting to get cold out.

I really just want to play some serious poker, but not have to pay a 4dollar rake and 1 dollar jackpot and have to buy in for 200 dollars every time.

Re: Home Games around St. Paul, MN

I could play approx monthly.

Saturdays are easiest, Sundays probably second best. But weekdays are doable, except Fridays.

I shouldn't play higher than .25/.50 NL, or 2/4 HORSE.

Re: Home Games around St. Paul, MN

PM me your email address (anyone on this list or anyone on the thread / lurking) and I'll add you to my second-tier desperation "can't fill a game" mailing list. You might get invited to a $10 donakment off the bat, but that's just to make sure that neither of us ends up dead in a car trunk.

That joke was funnier Monday than it is today imo.

My usual home game alternates between .25/.5 Dealer's choice (Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Stud, Stud8, Razz, Chicago, Tahoe, Crazy Pineapple, maybe one or two others) and .25/.5 NLHE. We play in/near Mankato area. It's shorthanded, so there's room for more, but any new players are allowed only at the discretion of the regulars. I'll have a talk with them and get back to you guys on this if there's any interest.

I can/do host games in Elk river. Usually tourney style. Serious poker but drinking and having fun too. We play smaller buyins but do a few per night.

I play in a game occasionally in West St. Paul. Game usually runs every week and its NLHE .50/1 bilnds but by the end of the night it turns into a straddle fest with double and triple straddles. Play with really nice custom chip set marked with denominations. Game lacks a real table however but other than that good group of guys. Not sure some might be 2+2 haven't really brought up the fact that I regularly read up on the game to make improvements. I'd rather everyone think I'm a fish.

Im more of a tourney player and I'd really be interested in some medium buy in home tourneys in the St. Paul area.

I live in St.Paul and am interested in possibly hosting some NLHE. Probably like probably 10NL or 25NL, and SNGs. I dont have any friends who are really interested in poker. I also would possibly like to include some learning aspect where we all discuss improving our play based around a book like Pro NLHE: Vol I. Is anyone interested in this at all?
