What % are winning players?
Has somebody analyzed their databases? What percentage of players on a certain level are winning players? How the money gets distributed? Is it an exponential curve where the majority of money goes to a select few or is it more evenly spread?
The only graphs I've seen are people bragging their own graphs, let's see the big picture. |
Re: What % are winning players?
my database is like 45% winnners, BUT so many players have only 100 hands it's lol
Longterm winners are like 8%...with less than that being "real winners" (real winner = over $50 a hour for me) |
Re: What % are winning players?
Mine shows about 50% (note I am a winner, at least in the pounds column anyway).
I heard that only 1 in 10 people win so clearly something is going on. I suspect some winners have 100's of different identities or the deal is rigged to favour crap players so it is like playing bingo, virtually all luck. Suspicious eitherway. I know some players different identies as they have told me so. This is supposed not to be possible. |
Re: What % are winning players?
-1%

Easy to solve. [/ QUOTE ] This is like having a pole on the inside of a football stadium asking whether or not the person likes football. |
Re: What % are winning players?
There is a link somewhere talking about this

They just arent a winning player at the level they play at. |
Re: What % are winning players?
I was a losing player for a long time.
I finally started this up swing for over 2 years now. |
Re: What % are winning players?
i dont even use pokertracker anymore, but i had a pretty decent sized database of hands, and according to it a little over 60% were losers.
|
Re: What % are winning players?
I am winning player but not a $50/hour winning player. More like 50 cents an hour.
|
Re: What % are winning players?
sharkscope says about 1/3 of players are longterm winners at SnGs. wouldn't it probably be similar at all forms of poker?
|
Re: What % are winning players?
40% winners and 60% loosers in my pokertracker
|
Re: What % are winning players?
~5% according to a high ranking PS official.

Re: What % are winning players?
databases are not a good measure.
if you have 100 hands against a -1BB/100 loser; the chances of him being up is not far from 50%. if that same player plays 100k hands, the chances are close to zero. in a random 250k hand database of mine, ill only have > 1k hands against a tiny fraction of the people in there. and when i do have >10k hands against someone, it's almost always because they're also playing professionally. |

databases are not a good measure. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, that's right. I started wondering this when I started datamining. Datamining is a tedious job though, the computer is always lagging and software's crashing, so I didn't get any good statistics... But someone should have done it. |
Re: What % are winning players?
50%, its a 0 sum game

Re: What % are winning players?

Re: What % are winning players?

Last year i looked it was 25% All at NL$25, no idea for higher - dont mine there. |
Re: What % are winning players?

Re: What % are winning players?
The problem with asking for a percentage is that many MANY players will deposit $50 once and never deposit again.
Edit: or three times or whatever, but there are so many players with only a couple hundred hands that are now playing play money, and these players are lumped into the 'loser' category. |
Re: What % are winning players?
10 players per SNG, 3 spots pay. And you used Sharkscope to get your SNG win %...

[/ QUOTE ] Hmm maybe thats wrong, it says 3million in the top left under "HANDS". but that may be counting duplicates where 6 people are sat and play the same hand lol. So 600 000? Good enough i guess http://chrislearns.com/Poker/index.p...&Itemid=26 |
Re: What % are winning players?
I have read on SharkScope that only 1/3 are winning players and that only the top 3% are true Sharks.
|
Re: What % are winning players?
It's obv 50/50, for every person who wins, someone has to lose, DUH!
|
Re: What % are winning players?
You can win, lose, or break even, so 1/3 of players are winning.
