Stoxpoker video question

I was wondering, can you save the Stoxpoker videos to the hard drive to use later? Is it a renew license system like Cardrunners? Or are they internet streams that are undownloadable.

Couldn't find mention of this anywhere, thanks.

Re: Stoxpoker video question

you can download videos but we do have an internet based license system as well that verifies your membership is active.

Why would anyone want to download your videos if they cannot use them after their license is inactive OR without an internet connection? What is the use of downloading then?

Re: Stoxpoker video question

The download versions are higher quality than the streaming versions.

The internet connection is required to very quickly verify that you are an authorized user and after that point you simply play it locally on your machine.

You can stop watching an hour-long video and start watching it where you left off without waiting for it to stream to there from the beginning. And in theatre mode it is like 5% bigger than in flash, which actually makes a difference in 4tabling videos.

Re: Stoxpoker video question

I *think* you can still do this allaysia. im not positive because I have never done it (will try to remember to test this week).

Download a video. open it with an internet connection to verify the license. then close it. disconnect the internet connection and view the video. I think once you verify the license it lets you view 2-3X before renewing the license.

I am not able to get this to work. It is either something I am doing wrong or a DRM compatibility issue with the operating system on my PPC.

R U using WM5 or WM6 as operation system.
if media player don't work, try TCPMP
it's a freeware, better then media player. easy function, and support all the format.

Re: Stoxpoker video question

the video doesn't work on pocket pc
because ppc browser doesn't support the format on authorization website.
so the only way to view video is on my laptop at home.
it does require to connect everytime you want to view them.

Re: Stoxpoker video question

That was the same result I had in testing it. We would be happy to refund your money and sorry it did not work out.

if i think it can help me, then i'll stay on.
it just sux that study and playing time have to overlap....
i have fulltime job, so i usually play after dinner for about 4hr before sleep.

Re: Stoxpoker video question

We will add it to our list to at least evaluate this. There are several MAJOR efforts on other new features for the site so I can't promise when we can fully evaluate this particular feature but it is a very good one.

Thanks

Allyasia,

I'm pretty sure once you download and authorize the videos you get a total of three views before it looks for authorization again. However, there are some caveats to this:

1) The initial authorization brings up a play/cancel option. If you hit play, that's one of the three even if you weren't planning on watching. So obv, hit cancel if you don't plan on watching then.

2) Some of the videos seem to use an authorization when you play the video then another once it gets to the end of the video and stops. I assume this is because it looks for authorization at the beginning of the video. Once the video stops, the player automatically returns to the beginning, prompting the second authorization request. This means you may inadvertently use two of the three viewings if you watch a video to completion.

Hope that helps.
