Bodog Bots at 10NL?

Today I learned that the player "FearIt" playing at the 10NL level is a bot... Im watching him right now and will report on him later...

http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...odog-57063.htm
names him three months ago and a player I talked to said he saw him go to showdown once and it was with AA

Don't know if this is old news but wanted to say it now to make sure everyone heard.

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

There have been bots winning at 10NL for months.

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

i play against 'fearit' seemingly on a daily basis...i'll keep an eye out, i guess..

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

Yeah I have played with them for an hour now...very passive and very low pre-flop numbers...and they don't speak...

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

also, after reading the link, i also play against mr_hand and pbandj daily...

don't remember chatting with any of them, maybe pbandj..

mr_hand was shortstacking 10NL for a month or 6 weeks...i never saw him sit with more than $2 at a time. then, all of a sudden, he started buying in every single time with the full amount ($10)...maybe the shortstacking was a testing run??

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

pbandj and mr_hand are bots too, I think mr_hand and fearit have the same city also.

If they get busted they all sit there until the table closes automatically by the bodog software, so I don't think the bot programmer has added a reload function yet.

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

they do...and i remember calling them out on it a month or so ago, strangely, no response.

something along the lines of, 'what are the odds of 2 players from eastampton playing on the same table, and NOT knowing each other?'

no response.

though that link basically outted them, i wish i would've seen it this summer. we'll see how those strategies work against them when i find them later this afternoon...

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

lol...any stats on the bots ...i wonder how ez it would be to play NL vs a bot ...

The 13th 4postle 10-27-2007 02:47 PM

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

Yeah "pbandj" joined the table after I did and had the second lowest preflop % and first was "fearit" on both tables....

Neither "pbandj" or "fearit" said anything when I said they were bots...the table talked about it for 30 mins too

morganti 10-27-2007 03:14 PM

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

my records show their stats as the following:

Mr_hand 10.03vpip 5.01pfr 5.59taf 3511 hands +111$
pbandj 10.09vpip 4.76pfr 6.45taf 1556 hands +40$
fearit 10.25vpip 4.53pfr 2.92taf 2536 hands -2$

I've actually seen fearit call someone a moron or something once. He's the only one I've seen talk, and as you can see his total aggression factor is a bit lower. I still think he's a bot though.

So, did you email bodog about this?

morganti 10-27-2007 03:57 PM

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

I emailed them once and a few others said they did too, bodog said they'd look into their play. Its been months now and those players are still there.

The rake cap at 10nl is .10c, so the amount of rake these players may generate is the equivalent of a couple value meals, if that, for a whole month of play. Hardly enough reason to keep them around imo.

to be honest, i'm looking forward to finding one of them in the near future now that i have those stats...MUCH rather play one of them right now than a random 2+2er..

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

beautiful!!

he folded about the first 20ish hands i saw, including once in a blind-battle with me to a minraise..

then i got TT in middle position, and open-raised to .40...he almost insta-pushed about $9, folded around to me..

normally, i'm probably folding, but remembering the whole, 'he'll push with AK' from the linked thread, i called, hit a set on the flop, and gg'd him..

now, he's just sitting there, as was also stated in this thread...it's been about 9 or 10 hands since he was busted.

wiper 10-27-2007 07:22 PM

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

i'm now on table 'bearcats' with both mr_hand and pbandj, who have 17ish and 28ish...

no position, unfortunately..

edit: just sat at a third table with hand, and he's way up on that one too..

wiper 10-27-2007 07:50 PM

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

update: hand has folded to 4 small raises in the blinds by me. i raise to .40 every time it's folded to us, and he folds.

hand and pbandj have played literally 3 hands total in 30 minutes or so...1 a raise to .35 pf with an obvious high pair, and twice they pushed all in pf with KK and AK again..

i have a feeling i'll be keeping this seat in between the two of them for a while, seeing how they don't leave the table until they bust..

HUH?

anyway, i played with hand and pbandj for about an hour and a half today, and they play exactly everyone said. i called them out once or twice, and they never responded.

extremely tight. raise to .35 with high pocket pairs and AQ. pushed preflop with AK. pot-sized bets or push every time with overpairs. fold to steal attempts every single time.

hand was in sb, folded to him, raised my bb with .35 with AQ, hit a queen on the flop, bet .10...he bet another .10 on turn, and checked river, and i called along with ace high to see what he'd raise a blind with..

seems like a pretty easy program to beat, imo..although both were up several buyins in the time i played with them..

is that for 6 max? because thats incredibly small. FTP's max rake at 10nl is $2 for 6 max

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

I play bodog 10NL all the time, yes Fearit PBandJ and Mr. Hand are all bots. Fearit and Mr. Hand claim to be "neighbors" and to "never play on the same table" (hint they do all the time)

I have no problem with them because I know exactly how they play each (all 3 of them) hands.

I think ive played pbandj because i remember someone min betting post flop. The other two I cant remember cuz i dont have hand histories. How do I beat them?

They don't have 6max, only 9max.

The most telling evidence is that they play 24-7.

Re: Bodog Bots at 10NL?

Here is there response and it was pretty fast.

Thank you for contacting Bodog Poker Customer Service.

We thank you for taking the time to write to us on this important issue. The security of our players and our systems is of importance to us, and is an area in which we strive for excellence in.

As a company that has been in business for over 10 years, we understand that security is a very important topic in the online gaming industry, and we feel we take all the steps necessary to ensure it is not compromised.

Our software has an encryption rate that rivals most online bank institutions, making it impossible to manipulate or infiltrate our systems. This means that there is no possibility of another player gaining the ability to view the hole cards of another player while a hand is in progress. This is something we have also ensured is not a possibility internally. With the way our systems are set up, no one in the Bodog organization, not even in the highest level, has the ability to view hole cards of any player while a hand is being played. The system design also makes it impossible to view the deck of cards used to deal a hand, thus making it impossible for anyone to know what cards are going to be dealt before they are made available to the participants in a hand.

In addition to our secure systems, we also have one of the most capable Poker Security teams in the business. Our Poker Security team is in charge of reviewing anything suspicious that might arise in our Poker Room. Many of our tools are proactive, and seek out any irregularities in game play on a daily basis. If a case ever does arise where a player is found to be acting in an unacceptable way, our Poker Security team will launch a full investigation into

that player and will take any steps they deem necessary to ensure game fairness is maintained.

We have forwarded the accounts in question, "Mr_Hand", "pbandj" and "FearIt", to our Poker Security team for review. They will take a detailed look into the accounts' game play and previous history to ensure that their play is legitimate.

Thank you very much for writing and taking the time to bring this matter to our attention. Should you have any questions, or require any further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Bodog still allows it's owner's/employee's to play, and even though they might not be able to see hole cards, they have access to information on every hand. These poker sites have to restrict their owner's/employee's from playing.

I think its more in reference to Absolute Poker then anything else, I don't think they meant to imply that their top brass people play at their site but who knows...
