he is a crazy crazy player. what level are you on cause he knows that you know that he knows you have ak.

nh, fold.

Re: 400NL deep w/ ak

this was during my first session at 2/4. he shouldn't know that tho. at the time i knew that he knew i had AK but i don't know if he knows that.

Praetor any reasons?

rand 10-23-2007 06:37 PM

Re: 400NL deep w/ ak

i think his reasons are something like you only beat a bluff and this is a pretty sick bluff

on the other hand your hand is either AK or air imo...but i think the first thing i says outweighs this by alot

Re: 400NL deep w/ ak

GP is sick......I'd check the river since he's not calling with worse after you played the hand like this. As played fold even though he probably has 55 or something.

i thought about checking behind on the river but I didn't think he could ever have anything that had me beat.

Re: 400NL deep w/ ak

sorry to bump but what hands would he do this with for value? if he's check/shoving JT he has to think I'm capable of a hero call w/ AK. my "image" should basically be a random 4-tabling 2/4 player. w/o any history would he think that I'm capable of calling such a large raise w/ TPTK on this board? I would think he'd be raising less w/ a huge hand.

.

given your line it looks like you cant call a river shove, but it would still be a sick sick sick bluff

Re: 400NL deep w/ ak

Definitely an interesting hand....still I don't see how a call could be right here.

Bet flop, and just bet/fold riv... gp333 is a good solid player from my experience.

Re: 400NL deep w/ ak

I would fold here. GP is really really sick, but I don't think he often tries to bluff unknowns off of a perceived TPTK.

Whaaa? This seems like an ideal spot, 200bb deep when Hero's hand is face up. But still its sick, and I'd fold. I also bet flop.

Re: 400NL deep w/ ak

he was raising my blind a decent amount and I didn't think he was folding any piece of the flop and c/ring a decent amount. obviously i bet the flop sometimes but i just decided to try and check this down until i hit the river. I think its fine to release results now since basically everyone said fold. naturally i called:

kenruf123: calls $582.70 and is all-in
*** SHOW DOWN ***
gp333: shows (high card Ace)
kenruf123: shows [As Kh] (a pair of Kings)
dstumpf has returned
kenruf123 collected $1415.40 from pot

still not sure about this tho.

theres like 0 value in betting the river unless you're triyng to induce some super retarded play from someone who regards you as an unknown.

timing is crucial here

did this happen before or after those 2 hands where gp bluffs were posted in the cheese thread?

Burdzthewurd 10-24-2007 04:27 AM

Re: 400NL deep w/ ak

I like this call when you're an unknown, especially if the player knows it. These sort of hands happened to me a bunch when I moved up or took shots at NL400 and NL600 and they were bluffs a good deal of the time. Bet flop next time so river isn't so hard

Re: 400NL deep w/ ak

I don't think you should bet this river if you aren't calling a c/r.

mythrilfox 10-24-2007 05:56 AM

Re: 400NL deep w/ ak

wtf, what is all this bs talk about not betting the river if you're not calling a c/r. how often does he c/r river for like 5x pot??? this is an easy fold against 99% of players but i guess "gp is sick" so we have to consider a call or something. i'd still fold most of the time, and there is nothing inconsistent about bet/folding this river at all.

Re: 400NL deep w/ ak

Come on, guys. This is such an easy call and I was thinking that before I saw the results. He checked three times and then he suddenly decides to move in - I mean WTF? It doesn't make any sense to me. It smells like a bluff. I call here everytime.

nice call. i dont know if i wouldve done the same. but if he had JT he'd prolly bet the turn, if he had a set he would've done the same hoping u had something.
