Good beer in GREEN bottles does not exist
A recent discussion with a friend left us stumped. Are there any good beers that come in green bottles?
For reference purposes, the following is a good beer: Pilsner Urquell and the following are not good beers: Heineken Rolling Rock Bavaria |

Re: Good beer in GREEN bottles does not exist
I had a good beer in a green bottle once. It was imported or something.

Yuengling is one, and another regional beer is Straub. The green bottle Straub's have no preservatives, so as long as it's somewhat fresh, it's good.

Since recently, one of the best Dutch beers comes in green bottles: Grolsch. It is great.

http://camy.org/gallery/fullsize/922.jpg [/ QUOTE ] Good one. Stella is also a good one. I've never tried Yuengling and don't remember what Grolsch tastes like or whether I've had it. If you like pilsners, Pilsner Urquell is one of the best, but if you know of a better or equally good pilsner, fire away. |
Re: Good beer in GREEN bottles does not exist
I like sierra nevada pretty well.
|
Re: Good beer in GREEN bottles does not exist
I didn't even know Yuengling came in green bottles. That seems wrong. No dark beer should ever come in a green bottle.
I don't really care for Dos Equis much, either. And someone, probably MrWookie because he's the noted beer connoisseur, called Stella the Grey Goose of beers. Soooo... I'm not really sold on anything besides PU. |

Anyone who likes Pilsner Urquell must try Staropramen.

I also seem to remember them being dark enough to come in a brown bottle, but then, I consider "not yellow" dark enough. |

Re: Good beer in GREEN bottles does not exist
You can find Staropramen in any decent beer store in the US and it is [censored] tasty.
|
Re: Good beer in GREEN bottles does not exist
FWIW, I work at The Beer Store up here in canuckland. Stella is just a regular overpriced lager. I am also confused about the PU being in a green bottle...OP is not making sense.
I don't mind Beck or DAB, both in green bottles. |
Re: Good beer in GREEN bottles does not exist
Stella is the Belgian Budweiser

Staropramen is very good and tasty. A friend introduced me to it after traveling through Europe for the summer. In Atlanta it's in all the major grocery stores' beer aisles.
