Increased pokerstars traffic

is it me or has the number of people on POKERSTARS increased significantly from a month or so ago with peaks of cash game players of over 15-16K during optimal times as opposed to just 10K people on just over a month ago.... anyone know of any reasons for this?? just seems odd that people have woken up and seen that internet poker is not going away in the US......

Maybe partly due to the end of summer in the US and Europe. People play more online when the weather is colder/not as nice.

Re: Increased pokerstars traffic

i think u guys are right must be the espn wsop coverage as well as echecks which certainly has made it much easier for people to deposit but the odd part is that i notice in some of the higher stake games 30/60 and up limit wise there are so many new names and u cant deposit higher stakes type money using echecks since the limits are so low....

Rather easy explanation for that IMO - Absolute's crash everybody came to Stars to play.

The weather has been pretty gorgeous for much of the country for much longer than it's normally supposed to be.
Some rain in different areas I guess but overall I don't think bad weather is much of a factor here.

Maybe we should get together and think about suggesting that Pokerstars give a special "thank you" bonus to 2+2 members with more than 100 posts?

That was just a joke, but seriously, there are over 106,000 players currently - that as high as I've ever seen it.

Sundays are typically PS' busiest days, but that's still a ton of players.

theres a site out there that lists site traffic, am i allowed to post the address ? i never know what i can and cannot do on this site, if not do a search in google for poker site scout. Hopefully that helps and doesn't get me banned.

That site is pretty well known, so I don't think it's a problem listing it. A mod can answer for sure. They provided some good tracking data after UIGEA was passed that was interesting to follow.

It does look like a clear jump in the number of peak cash game players on stars starting Oct 14th. Hope its sustainable.

guess they pay a few chinese to play microstakes. For me one of the worst places to play, dam slow, crazy cards, crazy plays and maybe the next site at the new york times. Agree play only any 6-8 months 1000 hands there, dont trust them.

Why the hell would a site have to pay for prop players if its the #1 site? Unless of course you mean that they're paying enough props to double the peak players of other sites. And lol at 1000 hands over 6-8 months.
