Right now Im watching a Mike Tyson show on classic sports (highly recommended) and they keep bringing up the fact that he is 19 years old.... WTF !?!?!?

WHile you are able to bully others your age and dominate sports, do the disadvantages outweigh the pros?

Tyson was a [censored] animal who crushed everyone from 19 to 23. I love watching those old fights on espn classic. IMO at that age he was the best boxer ever.

yeah watching that now too. usually when they show tyson they have to show like 5 fights to fill a half hour

top athletes shouldnt go to prison. think of all the great fights we missed while mike was in jail for beating his wife, recounted by the perpetrator himself as, "DAT BITCH FLEW ACROSS DA ROOM!"

denying society of his matches in the prime of his career, that's the real crime. and also, NO NEW TAXES!

Mike never got in trouble for beating Robin Givens. He went to prison for raping Desiree Washington at the Miss Black America pageant in Indianapolis.

He wasn't in the prime of his career. He was getting lazy and undisciplined in and out of the ring, which is how he had lost his title and lost his freedom.

But he only fought hamanaggars. Tyson is only given so much credit because he is an extreme offensive style fighter and exciting to watch. But if you take someone like Ali who is a defensive fighter it takes the guy forever to prove that he's the best.


Also, George Foreman was more "Tysonesque" then Tyson if you compare their career KO records and win streaks before winning the championship.

I'm not one to get into these Tyson/Ali arguments, since no one could say who would beat who until fight night, but what I can argue, is people should not speak on Tyson's life or character, without knowing where to even begin. First, in case you didn't know this little fact, Desiree Washington accused someone in her high school of rape the year before she accused Tyson, and that person got off Scott free (evidence of this was not allowed at Tyson's trial due the laws of the time [similar to Kobe case not allowing in evidence of promiscous conduct]). Second, as Mike Tyson said, anyone "with a grain of sense in their head," would know if he ever abused Robin Givens, it would be kind of obvious. Third, Don King had his TAX LAWYER, defend Tyson in a RAPE TRIAL, because he felt it was the only lawyer he could trust- believe me the two fields do not coincide. Fourth, why would Tyson, in the prime of his career, need to rape any woman, when he's getting laid everynight by various exotic women who are throwing themselves at him? Why did Desiree Washington GO TO HIS ROOM at 3 in the morning, TAKE HER TAMPON out (in the bathroom), and not run out if she was terrified.

Tyson's father was gone or dead before he could remember that far, his mother DIED when he was 14, his adopted father and trainer Cus Da'mato DIED when he was 17, his best friend and manager Jim Jacobs DIED when he was 20. Its not an easy life when everyone around you is dead, and people think your an animal.
