note that op plays full ring games, not poker. if you're unfamiliar with this practice, it's a bit like a donkament, but blinds don't go up.

Yes, along with full_tilting and mariojr (and 1forthethumb who no longer plays.)

I know them from chatting at the tables and some PMs from 2+2.

They all play a pretty identical nitty game which works well at those tables. They took quite a bit of [censored] following the accusations of being bots! That isn't the case though- they have just been very clever in fine-tuning their own set of basic rules and exploiting the general poor standard of play.

i played these games for about a month last year. i have no idea what i was thinking. i'd rather run into a truck than play them again.

The thing is I (and many others at this level) can earn a decent amount each month with negligible risk/stress.

If I was to move up to, say, $5/$10 then obviously I wouldn't be able to play 12 tables at a time successfully (even if there was enough traffic.) Playing 3 tables of $5/$10 I'd have to be earning over 5BB/100 just to match the returns of 12 x $1/$2 but with all the extra stress/swings too!

LOL. I wonder what drives someone to want to make snide remarks like this?

At the risk of not sounding modest, you can't earn that much purely from getting good cards. You need to know how to optimize them.

I always welcome structured criticism. However, continuing the lack of modesty theme, I'm quite probably the highest earner at those tables so I doubt you could teach me too much!

In fact, your statement above shows naivety and a lack of fundamental poker comprehension.

Anyway, no hard feelings. Good luck in learning the game.

I've started to add the odd table in sometimes- but even between $1/$2 and $2/$4 you have to adjust your style slightly for certain opponents.

OK, fair enough! Perhaps I didn't make that clear. My intention was to emphasize the fact that there are a wider variety of [generally better] playing styles found at $2/$4 compared to $1/$2 and an effective playing style requires more creatively.

this is what i found, when i moved up to 2/4 the play was hugely differnet from 1/2, took me a while to get the hang of it. i can guarantee that a style that works well at 1/2 wont work at 2/4
