Help me use my washer

I recently got an apartment in Prague and my only real experience with washers is the one my parents had and the ones in my apartment buildings back in Canada. However, the washer (maybe dryer as well?) in my apartment here baffles me.

It is a Zanussi ZWF 826

i think trying to decipher those cryptic symbols without the use of the Rosetta Stone will get you no where. So your only option is to start pushing buttons and see what happens.

Re: Help me use my washer

I think you turn the one dial to the number of minutes and then push another button for the hot or cold, 2nd dial is which radio station you want to listen to while it washes, the yellow button dispenses pez, the button to its right with the circle and dots that look like a face will transform it into a decepticon don't push this one until you take your laundry out, 2nd button from the left looks like an iron so it's probably for permanent pressed clothes or something.

Hope this helps.

Step 1: Learn the Czech phrase for "How the [censored] do you work this thing?"

Step 2: Ask one of your neighbors using your newly learned Czech phrase.

Saw a washer similar to this while on exchange. The 500/600/700/850 is very likely the revolutions per minute during the spin cycle of the wash that wrings out the clothing. 600 is good.

Right dial looks like the washing cycle. So different temperatures for like permanent press, colours, whites, etc. but i have no clue what each of the symbols mean.

What's with the dial on the left? Has European technology miniaturized enough where they can have a washer/dryer/oven combo?

In all fairness, this is more like lifetarding because google certainly doesn't know the answer, at least unless you speak czech. But the obvious thing to do would be ask someone who actually lives there rather than OOT.

Re: Help me use my washer

The left dial is the revolutions per minute when it is going really fast, you know, right before the end of the program. As high as possible is fine.

The right dial is the temperatures in degrees Celsius combined with the material your clothes are made of (the strange symbols, no clue which means which). 40 degrees is fine for coloured laundry, 60 degrees for white stuff.

The orange button is the on/off button.

Probably the only things you have to do:
1. Put laundry into machine
2. Switch machine on.
3. Turn right dial on the right temperature/material.

Happy laundry!
