Favorite Scent

Guys

What's your favorite cologne ? (If you don't use cologne, tell us your favorite body wash, deodorant, etc.)

Gals

What's your favorite perfume ? (I think it's safe to say all women have a favorite, no need for "sub-categories")

My favorite cologne is Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani. Why you ask? It's probably one of the best on the market right now, you cannot go wrong with a splash of Gio. Some people dislike certain colognes you wear, either it's too pungent or whatnot. Not one person has complained/mentioned something wrong with Gio.

Post your favorites, or even your least favorites. (Just include reasons why!)

There's one perfume for women, one of the chanels, that somehow hits me deep down where I live. I practically get stunned by it. It has a warm, especially clean, understated sensuality to it that just seems everything elegantly sensual at once. I can't remember which one it is, but it's been around forever. It seriously affects my judgment. I've never smelled any other scent that has had that effect on me. It could probably make me marry a warthog.

Does Chanel No. 5 ring a bell? It's the best selling of the Chanel line

I don't think that one's it.

Knew an OOT9 in college who wore channel #5. Best scent ever.

The three that I rotate are Polo Blue, Hugo Boss HUGO and Armani Gio. You are right about that one, everybody loves it, it's become a little standard now though since everybody wears it.

Great thread because I was just thinking about asking VR and the other women for perfume suggestions. Your timing couldn't be better.

(I love Acqua Di Gio, btw. It's a great scent.)

I love perfumes but unfortunately my boyfriend does not share my enthusiasm for them.

My all time favorite is probably Tresor by Lancome. I think it's wonderful and I always have it on my dresser. Not only does it smell amazing but it comes in a damn cute bottle.

I went out and bought Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle because I loved the fragrance but my boyfriend just hates it. Bummer! It wasn't cheap.

I bought a few other perfumes for around $70 only to find out he didn't like them either. I threw some of them away.

Can you guys recommend something very light and floral, not too dramatic or heavy? Thank you.

I've never really been into colognes. I do like some of the oils though. My favorites are tea tree oil and lemongrass.

I'm almost out of Kouros "Fraicheur" by Yves Saint Laurent; had to buy the last batch online a couple years back. The regular Kouros can still be found in department stores but this is a lighter version that seems to be very hard to find.

Gf bought it for me as a gift several years back after hearing some guys talk about it at the poker table. Like it for no special reason except that it isn't overpowering and she and various other women said they liked it. Maybe the "other women" being strippers lowered their taste. (just kidding gf )

Wouldn't mind suggestions for a similar brand that can actually be bought in a B&M store.

Katey, I think it's a great idea to get guy feedback on these things. Women pick perfume according to what appeals to them but that can be way different from what appeals to men. Specifically, women like a lot of incredibly sweet perfumes that men find overbearing and a real turn-off. Also, some women like "oriental" perfumes that have odd scents that some men don't like.

Re: Favorite Scent

I much prefer the scent from a conditioner/shampoo. It tends to be less intense a scent (strong scents make my nose itch). My wife uses some sort of coconut conditioner and she regularly gets comments after someone hugs her like "Wow, your hair smells great".

Sounds weird out of context, but it does smell great!

Re: Favorite Scent

If I answered I'd have 2 kill u. Scents can be very powerful when interacting with opp sex. Abouu 7 years ago I made the decision to only wear one scent. It took a while to find one good 4 my body chemistry and i have to buy it in bulk now. It's also resulted in many "borrowed" t-shirts. But women from college still remember how i smelled and I get that second "u always smell so good" hug

Well, yea. There's one female scent I love above all others, but I don't think in comes in "perfume" form...

Salazar, you have to tell us what it is. You cannot tease us this way.

By the way, I found a new perfume I like!

It's soft and light, almost flowery. I really love it and want someone to buy it for me for Christmas.

Perry Ellis 360 is the absolute bomb. I say this with no exaggeration: I get a comment from a women every single time I wear it out. I actually had a chick ask to hold onto my shirt for the night so she could keep the scent with her. The scent is my favorite style, not spicy, very fresh smelling.

I've never really been into cologne or perfume, but every girl I've been with says I smell good. I don't get it, and think in general it's a weird compliment but if it makes them happy then so be it...

Anyway the whole point of this comment was to say that I saw some of this in my grandma's bathroom when I was a kid and I thought she had a drug problem she wasn't telling us about.

Heheh you would have loved my grandpa then ... along with probably 3/4 of the rest of American grandpas.

How do you stand on Aqua Velva?

Re: Favorite Scent

Blech. Aqua Velva is too....just too much, ya know?

And I know about the Old Spice, it's an old man thing, but what can I say, I've always been attracted to the older ones. I'm 33 now and my soon to be ex is 49...go figure.

Re: Favorite Scent

Honest to God, I've always thought that aftershave is the way to go if you're a dude. I've always felt incredibly uncomfortable if I am aware of my own smell, even if it is some sort of cologne.

I'm very simple. I use the Gillette Sensitive Skin aftershave(the blue-colored one) or Nivea Aftershave Balm. Both are inexpensive and found in a grocery store, but when I was in college(and not massively overweight), I can remember numerous times that girls said I smelled good.

IIRC, for women, there's a perfume called Lucky that my ex-girlfriend used to wear. Now, I'm screwed for this one, because of the sense memory, but I seem to recall thinking it smells good.

Re: Favorite Scent

First thought that popped into my head: My daughter's hair. If I could capture that scent I'd be like one of those 18th-Century dandies pulling a perfumed hankie from his frilly sleeve every few minutes.

Scents that can be purchased? I'd go with the old tried & true Obsession, by Calvin Klein.
