WCOOP threads???

Where have all the WCOOP ME threads concerning the winner being disq.?
There was a 50 page thread in the gossip section that seems to have vanished, a follow up thread on the decision and a seperate thread in the MTT section that I posed this question in earlier on which has now vanished aswell??
I've made ~45 posts on this forum and now all but one of them seems to have been deleted? I've no idea what is going on, can someone enlighten me please?

wow, that's weird. You have 46 posts, but only 2 show up on your profile page. A conspiracy theorist might think someone is trying to silence you.

There won't be any more of those threads for a while. Future threads about The Void will be deleted until further notice.

Re: WCOOP threads???

this is weird. I wasn't following it the past day or more but I do know that Stars support themselves responded in the main thread and explained their decision.
The site themselves used that thread to communicate with part of their player-base and now 2+2 is keeping the response out of sight?

I'm kind of curious why this happening too.

The funny thing is
if someone said that blah blah blah cheated
and they killed 3 puppies in the process I wouldn't give a [censored]
but now that all the stuff is deleted
i wanna know

IMO, this is the stuff that keeps 2+2 interesting. If this site had freedom of information act, I think I'd be pretty damn bored with it.

Out of curiosity, under what law can lawyers delete posts on a public forum? Is 2+2 liable for all content in its posts? Given all the baseless accusations, libel, threats, etc. that can are posted on a daily basis, this would surprise me...

I still don't understand what they could have threatened 2+2 with. What would 2+2 have been scared of?

I can think of reasons the request would have come/been advised.

That said I think it's pretty weaksauce.

You don't know that it was Stars. It could be 2p2 lawyers advising them.

What made this situation different than all others? I have no idea.

Maybe it was Stars, we just don't know. But... if it was Stars, then that's pretty [censored] up and there has to be some sort of details that aren't being shared for why it would be so legally sensitive.

SpaceSquirrel 10-19-2007 03:43 AM

Re: WCOOP threads???

It could also have been lawyers representing TheV0id in a suit against PokerStars. I would think that a bit less likely than Stars. Then again, I'm pretty disappointed 2p2 would take such threads down regardless of who requested it.

Dynasty 10-19-2007 05:37 AM

Re: WCOOP threads???

The lawyer did not represent PokerStars.

Also, the threads still exist in the mod forum and can be returned in the future.

Re: WCOOP threads???

I have spent a great deal of time and effort reading all the relevant threads for the past ten minutes and I can assure you that in my opinion nothing is wrong and nothing has been said or done by anyone that is of any consequence.

Having said that, and cleared any lingering doubts you may have had, unfortunately there was one old joke posted by tuq that has had to be sent back to the original writer for copyright reasons.

Now, please move along.

I think degen may be allowed back. Any comments anyone?

Will they be restored then?
Also I wasn't so bothered that the threads actually disappeared, rather that they were taken away with no explanation and this thread had to be made to get an answer. Wouldn't it have been prudent for whoever went around chopping them all to post a two line explanation?

Mike Haven 10-19-2007 09:24 AM

Re: WCOOP threads???

In retrospect, yes, it probably would have been prudent to do that.

However, at the time, there wasn't really a party line on what to do. They were just rushed off the publicly-viewed forums while consideration was given.

If the powers that be decide they can go back into the public forums, (and I would guess that also depends a lot on what is posted elsewhere on the internets), then you can bet your boots they will be. Until then, I suspect that the mods will be overly cautious in what they allow to remain in the publicly-viewed forums here.

Besides all that, it ups the views in ATF.

imo
