on the first one id rather just double the turn then c/r AI

2- 10 is an OK card to double on. much rather K/Q. dont really like it.

How is hand 2 a semi-bluff?

Hand 1 is okay though they never seem to fold KJ here and if they are really bad they call with a big draw. I'm not against betting $35 or check/calling.

awesome

1: depends on the situation, but i think this is good alot of the time

2: read 1. Although i don't think it's as good as often.

Overcards and we may have the best hand.

Re: two semibluffs

I was partially kidding but I like hand 2 a lot better than hand 1.

I'd like the exact definition of "semi-bluff"-doesn't it entail hitting outs that are live? Can you semi-bluff when you are drawing dead? (as in him having a set here--not saying he does, but he might).

Re: two semibluffs

why the overshove in hand 1? If you think hes floating you too much 85 should do it, I think he folds the same hands he would to the shove.

hand 2, i think the bet is a little too big, you'll have to fire river a decent amout and now that's gonna have to be a shove. Id like it better if you were deeper.

Re: two semibluffs

semi bluff - betting with a hand that is behind, but has equity in the pot.

Re: two semibluffs

1- sexy

2- Fine if your image is good against this player. Bet size is not so good. If you had a strong hand I don't think you should bet quite that much.

Re: two semibluffs

I prefer hand one but I'd prefer a smaller raise than an overshove.

Hand two is good if you have a read that says this will work. Otherwise the ten doesn't really change much.

Re: two semibluffs

a few thoughts:

hand 1.

Board: Ks Qs 7d 3h
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 26.705% 26.70% 00.00% 141 0.00 { 6s4s }
Hand 1: 73.295% 73.30% 00.00% 387 0.00 { KJs, KJo }

73.3/26.7 = 2.75:1

pretty much any cr i make commits me to calling a shove, so i don't see a reason to make a smaller raise. fwiw, i'd play a set of kings the same way (if i were to check the turn).

and i don't think he's calling with KJ/KT; i could be wrong.

hand 2.

fwiw, i'd make the same size bet with AA here (if not more). and it's not so much that i think the ten is a scare card. my thinking is that he can't call this bet because he didn't raise the flop, which was drawy. by the same logic, shoving the river is probably good if he calls the turn bet.

Re: two semibluffs

I like 'em both and play both the same way fairly often.

What's your plan on the river if called in hand 2? Curious as I've become 3 barrel happy lately but have toned it down recently after having 3 barreled off about 160bb's into the nuts not so long ago.

Re: two semibluffs

1- i prefer doubling but i suppose the c/r line could work quite well.

2- sure. definitely a good board to float for villan, i think doubling is nice here. i might consider 3-barreling river as well. most people won't have the stones to call down with 87 or whatever.

i 3barrel pretty rarely and when i do it i generally have a better read on the villain than just numbers, but i think this would be a great spot. the villain in this hand did end up folding the turn, but i would've at least given to consideration to shoving the river if he had called.

In my experience the 30/20/3 guys are born without fold buttons, certainly with KJ/KT like hands but that's maybe selective memory. I like #2.

Re: two semibluffs

1>2 but both are hot

1) hot. anything that really wants to call this would have raised flop

2) looks good, he should fold PPs, random flush draws, etc. if he's floaty a c/r here is great too.

i'd fire the third barrel on Kx rivers and some others depending on how long he takes to call the turn.

Re: two semibluffs

Hand 2 - if we bet this turn, we should be willing to follow through on the river I think. yes or no?
