11% for Congress and 24% for the Prez, according to that poll.

And Sanchez saying we're in "a nightmare with no end in sight" after str8 up lying to the US public 3-4 years ago.

Out of all places, in the US of A. Who woulda thunk it?

Re: 11%

Not suprising at all to me. People on the left/center want the Dems to do something to stop the war, which they aren't. The right wants....whatever they want (gay marriage/abortion?), and the GOP has ignored them (with the obvious gambling bill the exception. But most of all, people are just sick of hearing about the way this country is going to [censored]. I have a feeling those poll numbers will shoot up around the end of January, 2009.......

Yet the reelection rate will still be around 90%.

But the system isn't rigged. Not at all. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. Move along to the polls folks. Nothing to see here.

I bet if you polled most Americans that doesn't even come top 10.

Democrats are pissed due to non action on Iraq, Republicans are pissed because Democrats are in charge and Republicans are handing them 10 more seats minimum and Independents are pissed because of the gridlock.

Recently my wife told me about a press briefing she went to given by a woman in the State Department*. She mentioned casually that they pay people to hang out in internet message boards and comment in the blogosphere to "correct" the "bad" information posted online about the US government (I'm not making this up, by the way; they actually do this). Essentially she is the Minister of Propaganda. I am starting to suspect you must be one of those people.

Wow I would love to do that job. I'm sure my nearly 8,000 posts here and another 7,000 or so on a student doctor forum would be a great resume. If nothing else it shows dedication to mindlessly typing away for hours and hours at a time. And really its all about quantity.

I'm thinking it'd be like being Press Secretary, except for $9.00/hr.

Hedge funds, companies, brokers etc. (Whole Foods CEO was doing this and found some troulbe for his efforts) also monitor message boards and post "corrections" so it's fairly common. Amazing the government bothers to do this and a little unsettling.

As well as $88 a barell oil due to inaction regarding drilling more offshore and in ANWR; continued roadblocks to increasing refining capacity in the USA; maintaining tariffs on imported ethanol. Also tax hikes after sunset provisions to existing laws expire. Social security time bomb still ticking. Mostly good from inaction but some bad too.
