The Ron Paul Fundraising Challenge

Dr. Paul's campaign has set an extremely aggressive fundraising target for this quarter (perhaps too aggressive, but that's another story). $12M for the quarter, $4M per month. October is over halfway over, and so far they've only raised $1M. I know that the fundraising ramps way up before the deadline on these things, but I'd rather the last-minute gap to be made up be as small as possible. I highly encourage all the 2+2 Ron Paul supporters to give whatever they can. You can donate via credit card, pay pal or other methods at his official campaign site http://www.ronpaul2008.com .

I gave another $200 today.

Donate and post in this thread. Let's see what kind of total 2+2 can generate. Please no prior donations (sorry renodoc; you are still balla).

I'm all for RP, but I don't see what this post adds to the forum. It seems a little spammy to just say "hey let's all give money to so and so."

I donated 250 at 5:30am this morning before I left for work (14 hours ago). Does that count?

If Politics forum regulars can't organize to support a presidential candidate, then . . . well I don't know what to say.

It's up to iron, though. He's the mod. If I'm violating some policy I don't know about, then he should obv. lock/delete.

I will be donating $50 as soon as I get paid for E-bay items via Paypal! (And, ironically, not voting for Paul)

Post when you've donated. And thanks.

$200. Feels good to put my money where my mouth is. Now I just need to get around to registering to vote.

I'm just saying it would get pretty annoying if there was a new thread every time someone wanted to drum up support for a candidate without even trying to start any real discussion.

Maybe we could have a designated "political contribution thread?"

Only a little spammy?

While we're here, I've set a less aggressive goal for my campaign: every politics regular just donate $1 to me. I'll be back later with a link you can use.

Confirmed?

For future reference, since emergencies come up and priorities can change, I'd like to keep it to confirmed donations.

Um. Do you honestly think that I have to "drum up" support for Ron Paul around here, or that there isn't any "real discussion" of Ron Paul around here? I just wanted a thread where a running total of 2+2 financial support for RP could be kept.

Sure. We can keep tally for others as well.

Ron Paul does need money, its tough for anyone to keep up with the Clinton's. I myself will not donate (never have by the way, to any politican or party) as it is against my Religion and my ethical/moral code, such as it is, but I do urge others to donate. If you have previously donated to someone like Ralph Nader (that includes you Iron) you could certainly donate to Ron Paul. Now get with it people and whip out those credit cards.

I'm pretty sure November 5th is going to be a huge day for donations for the campaign. In case you don't know what I'm talking about, clicky clicky.

I donated $100 two days ago, so my tally's up to $200. My total contributions will be somewhere between $500 to $1000.

How about banning anything about political fund raising, period? Proselytizing is annoying no matter what fictitious entity its for.

$10 mil would have made more sense, IMO. Double last quarter. Remember, we want to blow away estimates.

Anyways, I was planning to make my donation in december.

Yes, buy bumper stickers, yard signs, whatever you can do grassroots. But that won't count for the tally here.

Also, youare allowed to donate more than once.

Solicitations for money are not permitted, which is why I largely killed GCYW's Paul fundraiser tournament. However, I think its ok for Boro to say its a good idea to give money to a 3rd party (Paul). Go for it.

Thanks. By the way, I was totally serious about tallying up donations for other candidates as well. If people want to post them, I'll total them.

There's been a huge spike in donations thanks to the email that Ron Paul sent out and it certainly shows in the link below. Today should be a big day because people who didn't read it before they went to bed will read it when they wake up and donate!

Just for some kicks, go to Huckabee's website and see how much he's raised in the same time Congressman Paul has raised over $1,000,0000.
