Ugly river, range mergers n stuff
4-handed
Standard TAG UTG/CO raises, 2 fold, I call with 55. Flop 238rb. I c/c. Turn 4. check-check. River is a K. I check, villain bets 12,5bbs into a 16,5bb pot. Now what? |
Re: Ugly river, range mergers n stuff
does this std tag bluff scare cards?
you should have that in your notes if you know him well enough that he is a std tag |

Re: Ugly river, range mergers n stuff
His bluffing frequency should go way up on that card, so I suppose your calling frequency should too.

Re: Ugly river, range mergers n stuff
insta-call if he's decent.

Re: Ugly river, range mergers n stuff
What do we do if villain range merges with an overbet?
|
Re: Ugly river, range mergers n stuff
if i'm not getting a decent price, i'm folding
|
Re: Ugly river, range mergers n stuff
If he's decent that's more reason to fold.

If he's a passive nit, not a good player, that's more reason to fold. [/ QUOTE ] |

What do we do if villain range merges with an overbet? [/ QUOTE ] why is this relevant? river isn't an overbet. r u saying u have notes on him that says he overbets w/ air, monsters, and medium strength hands? |

[/ QUOTE ] I am trying to think of strategies that villain can use, and we can too, for being less exploitable. |
Re: Ugly river, range mergers n stuff
easy call. its such a juicy card to bluff, and u should know it. if he happens to have it this time, its standard variance, if u see this happen more than once or see him checking a similar spot in the future, note this and u will know what to do vs him next time.

Re: Ugly river, range mergers n stuff
Nielso, the question on the river becomes dependent on your read of a player.
If your read is: 1.) He bluffs this card a lot 2.) He values this card if he hit it 3.) He doesn't value an 8 or 77 like this Then call The best way to be less exploitable from villains perspective is to mix up whether or not you bluff the card and make some thin value bets with 2nd pair type hands |
