Standard, especially with your read.

Re: deepstacked with trips
i figured it was, but several people said my hand was face up, i said that his seemed face up as well, i just expected to see trips with a worse kicker, i fell outta my chair when i saw he hit is kicker on the turn.
some others argued that he doesnt 5 bet a worse hand, maybe i cud accept that, but him palying like an ass weighed heavily on my decision to call |
Re: deepstacked with trips
after you 3-bet, sure.

Re: deepstacked with trips
extremely marginal ... if u or villain has even somewhat lag image, he thinks K6 Q6 J6 are all good here. i couldnt fold this.

Re: deepstacked with trips
i was actually in a similar situation earlier today and stacked off w/ what ended up being the worst hand. something my roommate pointed out to me is that if im planning on stacking the hand anyways, i shouldn't b/3b the flop since cuz its a limped pot, if he continues, his range is extremely polarized. so like, instead of b/3b to just flat call his raise, it makes it less of a mistake to stack off since you dont have that extra information you gain from 3betting.
just think of it like this ... when u b/3b in limped pot, u are folding out all but the strongest hands, but by not allowing him to get away from a 2nd best hand and thus not revealing the true strength of your hand, it gives him the chance to play back at u w/ worse. this is of course, only if u r planning on stacking anyways, it just makes it less of a mistake. |
Re: deepstacked with trips
we only bet/3b the turn and i understand what ur sayin, i just thought against a player like this hes not getting away from trips here, and thats what hes telling me he has, of course i have to run into a full house every so often. in my head when the flop came out i jsut kept thinkin i need to slam a flop vs this guy, then i did, and never thought twice about him even being ahead, and more often than not i dont think he is. and hes def not folding trips, so while i may be polarizing my range, i still think it is the most optimal play here and will get me the largest pots. yes i will lose large pots to full boats, but will also win the same sized pots from worse trips

Re: deepstacked with trips
so what did u need to post the question here for if u already know the answer...
reads >>>>>>>>>>>>&g t; analyzing play in a vacuum |
Re: deepstacked with trips
i wasnt sure until some other good posters gave feedback, i got berated by the table and talked it over with some people who disagreed with my play, when someone i respect like ike or orange replies, it lets me know if im doing things correctly or not. i hope u dont think i attacked ur arguement, it just doesnt matter if my range is polarized here because the majority of his is trips. if i dont post this maybe i go with the advice of everyone at the table and my friends, so i begin to play this differently, which doesnt seem like the best play.
