QTo in limped pot

vs unknowns at 1/2.

From memory. CO open limps. SB completes. We have Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and check.

Flop is Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (pot $6)

SB checks, Hero bets $4, CO raises to $12, SB folds, Hero...

I call and re-ev.

Re: QTo in limped pot

just fold it. co limps so we have no idea his range/bluffing capacity etc. This could easily be like aa/kk random hearts draws etc. tough hand to play oop

I think folding is fine here.

Fold

Re: QTo in limped pot

I'd fold here vs most opponents.

Specifically, our hand is quite weak, and certainly worse than anything he's raising for value, (often worse than his semi-bluffs, as well) and we have bad reverse implied odds.

The turn will almost never be an easy spot for us, short of hitting one of our 3 offsuit Js, and it's not like we have much in the way of implied odds when we hit those cards. If we hit a Q or a T, and he keeps firing, we are still very often behind.

The pot is small, and I just don't think it's worth fighting for.

In position, I'd call for sure. Both because our implied odds go up significantly, and because we have a chance to see how much (or if) he bets the turn, and can make a decision at that point.

pretty clear fold. we can't take any heat, even if he is on a draw, we can't really call a non J turn

Re: QTo in limped pot

CO's range: JT, 2 pair, rarely a set, a flush draw, straight+flush combo draws, rarely QK,AQ,QJ. So we might still have the best hand; but villain has position and if he isn't ahead he has very good equity - so what turn card besides the 3 non [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Jacks do we hope to see? We can't donk the turn and nor do we want to check/call it on a blank.

Just listen to the partially masked man as I just realized I'm reiterating his post.

How so? We're OOP and hardly any cards help us. We can't expect him to be value-raising Q7-Q2, so we have to hope he has 54h or something. And even if he is semi-bluffing with a heart draw, are you likely to call another barrel on the turn when he bets again?

he's an open limper, it's 8 more, and we have outs if behind. id probably stop and go if i wanted to continue the hand, which i would want to continue

I sometimes call, cause... WE HAVE A GUTSHOT!

I think were ahead here a decent bunch, and we have outs if we dont.

Re: QTo in limped pot

question then, if we had KQ here, is this a bet fold on the flop? what about 89?

Bobbo,

How big would you size your turn donk?

thac 10-17-2007 01:33 PM

Re: QTo in limped pot

89 is a bit better on this board than QT, and I'd definitely play it, probably bet and see how they react, mostly calling a raise though.

I hate being leveled.

Bobbo,

Also given this spot would you rather have QT over AQ,KQ,QJ?

Why is 89 better then QT? Does he have QJ alot?

QJ is the best of the non 2pair queens. How often does villain himself have KQ/AQ? Not often.

oops misread the action, i thought we were considering a cold call, i'd call this, yeah

Having two pair gives us a bit more equity against a QXh, and it also makes it less likely that he has two pair as well.
