Is it set up so there can only be a team used once? Every league I've tried playing in has 3 Detroit's and 3 Vancouver's or Ottawa's it's no fun playing vs your own team.

Ive never done a league so im not sure what in involves.

Every team plays every team once, not sure if theres playoffs or anything? anyone else know?

If theres not it would be pretty easy to arrange.

Edit: if you dont have nhl 08 and are thinking about getting it, its the best hockey game ive ever played. Its way better than 07 which i thought was damn good as well.

if I remember correctly each league is 15 games long no option to change it

you can have whatever number of teams, and you play a team x number of times depending on the total teams

once we get say 4-6 teams we should just launch it and see how it goes

we can always do another one after


edit: sorry I missed your game invite last night, I left the xbox on and flipped to the MLB game

I'd probably do it, but my 360 is going in for repairs sometime next week. Going to be unable to play anything until sometime mid-November probably. POS hardware.

the league never really got going, I think with all the games out lately people (myself included) arent on NHL 08 enough to make it work. MGSimpleton on XBL if you want to get a game going

I may be the worst NHL 08 player on the planet. I get my ass handed to me regularly by the AI on PRO. My Pro level Franchise team is barely .500. Anyone else having trouble scoring, or is it just me?

im in the same camp as you. i can kill the AI on easy/novice but have a really hard time scoring on pro.

The key to scoring, at least in Superstar and I'll assume in lower levels, is to work the puck around in the zone and find open guys in the slot. Then, don't just fire the puck off the instant you get it, but hold the left trigger to square up to the net, look at where the goalie is, and then aim for the open side. You'll get knocked off the puck more, but your accuracy will improve dramatically, and coupled with odd man rushes/the occasional shot through traffic that the goalie doesn't see, should provide a decent amount of offense. It's also imperative to be play good defense, your AI teammates are pretty stupid so don't go chasing the puck around your zone, that'll just open the slot and you'll get one timed to death, but give the AI the bad angle shots and just protect the slot, clearing rebounds and breaking up passing attempts.
