Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise
don't think it matters that much in a $5.50. KK and AA are unlikely so you're likely to be racing, but worse aces are also in his range.

Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise

Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise
Probably call out of curiosity if the $5.50 doesn't bother me that much.

Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise

Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise
Call, lose to 33.
PPL love to do this with weaker aces too, that's why we can't fold. |
Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise
Call

Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise
Fold. Come on guys - call? That is just wrong.
So you are saying 50/50 chance to either gain a TINY amount of equity or lose everything. Calling is BAD. It's to early (can you get any earlier?). Winning 1500 chips is not that meaningful and losing 1500 is bad. Win - you double your equity which is nice but in reality does little to win you money. Lose to garbage cards and you are toast sitting there with a silly grin on your face. You have no clue how this player is and are sitting there with a drawing hand. Hand like this happened to me last night. Guy had 83s and pushed. I knew he had garbage and my AK was sweet. He hit his 83 for two pair and I sat there stunned after 15 hands on a table or morons! It's early - let the others eat their own and you pick up the pieces when the blinds really count. 3000 chips are meaningless early. |

Sharkscope player.
If winning player, then fold. If losing player, then call. If blocked stats... Post on 2 + 2. |

kiddin'... short term != long term I would put all my money in with AK vs. 83s allday long and drool over all the money i'm making... |
Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise
call and not even close...full range includes pairs but also KQish, 109suited and total air...in the long run a her fold here will cost you big time

Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise
I usually fold, wait for a better spot. Most common:
- TT/JJ (ie decent hands that people don't want to fold, but also don't want to see a flop with) - Maniac with any 2 cards - Donk who is excited over QQ+ So I think you're usually in some sort of 60/40 or race. I don't see AQ or AJ often here, which is probably what you'd want to see. |
Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise
Passing up edges is BAD. Waiting for a better spot is BAD.
In SNGs you want to avoid coinflips. AK vs a maniac is not close to a coinflip. Call call call call call. |
Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise
default is fold....calling is a minor leak. i'd need a read to call here
|
Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise

First of all, this isn't a 60/40, as we're about 49% to win against a 33. He very often has total garbage and dominated aces. If he shows up with AA or KK, make a note. Read here is that he is most likely a fish as he's shoving for a million BBs. I'd say 50% of the time he shows up with a pair, and 50% of the time you have him crushed. This is rarely AA, I've seen it here like < 10x in my 8,000+ stars 6.50s. If you have some sick read, like in a 109 and this is poker_in_pb or something, then I could barely find a fold. The fact that this is a 5.50 makes this mandatory call + fist pump, and any other line here is terrible. FWIW I've seen Big Joe call this at higher (still low stakes) buyins. This is much more questionably with AKo, but then again, this is a 5.50 and the players are horrible, even worse than at the 6.50 turbo level. |
Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise
pump fist and call, its the first hand of a 5.50, you have a premium hand and some donk has put his whole stack on the line, if you lose the flip just load up another one, thats my thinking

Re: 5.50$ Stars, AK: faced with allin after my raise
Do you care much about 5.50.
Yes = Fold No = Call |
