\"The Fifty Worse Songs EVER!\"
 

Apparently Blender has released their list of worst songs ever. Frankly I'm surprised by this list. There are a lot of songs you may call "bad" but not worst ever. It also seems, aside from two songs, that they only considered music that occurred before 1980. I'm know there are a lot of songs out there that should have made this list instead of some of these. I could probably think of 50 that could take the place of all of these. I'm not sure how you could put "My Body Is a Wonderland" and not put "Big Yellow Taxi" by Counting Crows or songs by Paris Hilton/Macho Man Randy Savage/The Cha Cha Song/Fergie/Thong Song. What do you think OOT? Is this the end all be all list of horrible songs? What would you put in it's place? Link to full explainations why they chose these songs.

Yes, I think the GBH song "Big Women" is a terrible song, and certainly worse than "Shiny Happy People," (which is actually not that bad, all things considered), but who cares?

Make Em Say Ughhh is the song that turned No Limit into mainstream crap. So it was obviously successful. It does not belong on this list.

Sunglasses at night is awesome and that Puff Daddy song is the only thing he's ever done that I liked.

It's consistently put near the top/bottom of lists like this because of lyrics like "the book of love will open up and let us in". The idiots focus almost completely on lyrics.

A good number of these songs were on Rolling Stone's Best 500 Songs Ever list.

Tuq- the one in that list I really agree with is "Closing Time," because Semisonic's previous album was actually really good, and this was a piece of garbage whose success led them to make more pieces of garbage.

Nath, yes this was hosted by George Lopez and it was on a few years ago. When talking about Billy Ray Cyrus his joke was "For more information on Billy's haircut, consult your local Camaro dealer." That was the best part of the show.

This is the exact same list and I thought George Lopez called it "Blender Magazine's list" or whatever. wtf? Why is this coming out again? That's a big mistake; some intern's gonna get fired.

Here is the problem I have with this list - I know all these songs.

If it was a list of 50 worst songs, then they would have an extremely short play life, and few of us would have heard of any of them.

If anyone had a list of 50 worst books (and truly meant WORST), I am sure none of us would have read or heard of any of them.

If anything, this is a list of over-rated and/or corny songs.

Same here, all of those songs make me want to puke. But one song that actually does make me puke just thinking of it is Mr. Blobby. For anyone fortunate enough to not live in the UK and have never heard this, you are truly lucky. In fact there are dozens and dozens of songs in this ilk that are far, far worse than any of the songs on that list of 50.

Kids should not be allowed to listen to this type of music.

Lists like this are pointless and are meant to be controversial and spark the sort of debate you all are having. A lot of those songs were just overplayed to death but are still quality. A few that I was particularly annoyed with having on the list...
