If you could choose one TV pro to be your mentor, who would it be?

By TV pro I mean anyone who the majority of casual poker players would recognize. That disqualifies most 2+2 pros and other internet whizzes.

I'd have to go with Chip Reece. Many top pros recognize him as the best all around player in the world and I'd sure he could help me perfect my technique in numerous variations of poker as opposed to just hold em.

If it were no limit hard to argue with Doyle or Johnny Chan.
If it were omaha hard to argue with Sam Farha.
If it were limit hold em probably Todd Brunson.
If it were any other game Chip Reese.

I wouldn't mind rolling one up with JC Tran and havign him sweat me a few tourneys. But as far as "who's shed would you rather live in while trying to grind it out?": then it's Barry G hands down for me. That should be a prop.

It'd be fun to talk strategy with the guys who never ever talk about the strategic part of poker on camera. Ivey for example always talks in such hazy ambiguities ("I just felt he was weak so I moved in") when being interviewed, probably because he knows it'd be boring for the average viewer if he'd really get into the technicalities of the game.

It'd be interesting to hear what he really thinks about 3-betting from the blinds in NL or something.

Phil Laak.

So I can beat his ass when starts talking about props in tongues. And I'd like to ask him if masterbated to Tilly when she used to be hot, like in "Let It Ride". GG

Do annoying people die in three's? Laak, Tilly, Esfandiari

Hansen has exactly one gear and it's called AGGRODONK. Just because he says he's always switching up his play in his Full Tilt commercial doesn't make it so.

Greenstein would just talk about himself for hours on end.

Ivey doesn't know how to form an intelligent sentence, let alone teach poker to someone.

Patrik Antonius, 'cause he's cute. But also that other non-USAian who, I think, had pocket duces against Jamie Gold's Q9, or some hand like that. The guy folded his winning hand but told Gold what his hand was. The shocked look on Gold's face at that reveal was worth the hand loss.
