Explanation of plate tectonics.
 

I would like the Christians to please explain the biblical interpretation of how fossils and rocks of oceanic origin end up several thousand feet above sea-level.

Another variation I've heard is "a test of faith" either by god or the devil. Not sure if this was meant as a serious argument though.

I've also heard arguments to the effect of god created the universe/Earth as if it were billions of years old already. This argument is commonly used to explain how we can see galaxies that are billions of light-years away (god created the photons "in flight").

Are you directing this question at young earth creationists? There aren't all that many of them any more (relatively), and I don't know of any on this forum.

Funny!

This forum is constantly debating jesus and god. And also, the theory of evolution.

Well, I suppose the theory of plate tectonics deserves a place in the discussion. The theory offers us a rational reason as to why there are oceanic fossils thousands of feet above sea-level. The christian thinking offers us absolutely no reasons as to why I can find an oceanic fossil 7000 feet above sea level.

According to young earth creationists, the great flood deposited all of the sedimentary rocks that the grand canyon goes through, and then cut the canyon. It also sorted all the fossils so the most primitive organisms are at the bottom. Pretty amazing.

How come some fossils and rock formations "of the same age" are at different elevations?

I suppose jesus and god sprinkled carbon here and there just to fool us?

La, la, la....let's give the advanced, logical monkeys something to think about. God said, we'll put some fossils at 7000' and some more at sea-level. See what the monkeys think of that.

Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.

Sounds a bit like plate techtonics/ ice ages doesnt it?

Why should they be expected to answer this question. It has absolutely no bearing on whether or not there is a god as they view him. If they do not have an answer all it means is that they do not know why. What does that prove? Nothing.

Christian thinking doesn't need to offer an explanation. There's no contradiction (unless you're a young-earther), so the lack of "explanation" by the Bible means nothing.

This is just silly, another way to see that christianity per se doesn't much exist, it is only a very fragmented set of believers in many different things all calling themselves the same but excluding each other from the same named set! There is nowhere in the Bible where it says that plate tectonic don't exit. It also never says that the earth is 6000 years old.

The number of people who claim that those who believe in plate tectonics aren't Christians is so small as to be negligible. It seems that most of the people who make such a claim are atheists attempting to make Christians look silly.
