Variance: Depression Test

Variance: My school emailed this depression test that we were supposed to take.

Beat:
You received a score of 42. (Severe Depression)

Everyone feels overwhelmed by life at times. Sometimes we just wish we could stop the pain and sadness we feel. You should contact the trained professionals at your school's counseling center to help you with these feelings. If you are currently considering suicide or need immediate help, call 9-1-1 or go to the emergency room. The national suicide hotline can be reached at 800-273-TALK (8255).

you cant take it without a school code? i can't give you mine bc it would be reflected in my school's results

Re: Variance: Depression Test

Yeah, just type in anything in the school code and an error message will come up and allow you to proceed anyways.

They offered this at our school on National Depression Awareness day or whatever, and were going to raffle off a free new iPod nano to the takers.

That kinda bothered me, and yet struck me as really hilarious.

"You can also try improving your mood with The Feeling Good Handbook by David Burns (1999; Plume Publishing)."

Pretty clever scam, Plume Publishing. Pret-tay clever.

Also, when you do 12345, pick Columbus College of Art and Design. CCAD is full of emo queers and girls who make their own clothes and [censored], so you lot will likely improve their score.

Re: Variance: Depression Test

These type of self tests are absolute carp. I have suffered from depression and it is a lot harder to diagnose than just a simple test, anyway your school should not be getting this type of info since its not really their place to diagnose or help treat. If you really feel like you have depression, talk to a professional. It might be hard to do and embarassing at first but it can seriously save your life.

I scored a 13 (mild depression). I think it's only because I'm not a very good sleeper and botched all the sleeping questions.
