UB Locking Up
 

Any UB players have problems with all your tables locking up when your seat opens at a new table? If I am multi-tabling, and it prompts me to take a seat at a new table, everything locks up and all my hands time out. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this please let me know.

Yup, sucks. I've given up on using the waitlist function because thats what really [censored] everything up.

I started emailing them last night about this issue.

I will email them 2-3x/day until they fix it. I'm going to link them to this thread as well.

here's what we got so far....they claim something is wrong with my version of UB (ya right u tards)

Thank you for contacting us.

This problem seems to be caused by a corrupted file on your game
application. Software corruption can happen at any time your system performs
unusual hard shutdown processes or during a forced game shutdown.

We recommend you to reinstall your game application by following these
instructions:

1- Restart your computer and when the system comes back up do not open
the game.
2- Go to the "Start" button and open the Control Panel.
3- Search on the list for the UltimateBet.Com application, select it
and hit on "Remove". Hit "Ok" when prompted for confirmation.
4- Exit the Control Panel application.
5- Open up your "My PC" explorer and browse the following path
"C:\Program Files" and delete the "UltimateBet" folder.
6- Launch the Internet explorer and go to "Tools" menu, select
"Internet Options", delete cookies and temporary files so you can proceed to
install a complete fresh version of the game client.
7- After you clicked on "Delete Files", select "Delete all offline
content" and click "Ok". Restart your computer.
8- Now, open the Internet Explorer again and paste the following link:
ftp://ftp.ultimatebet.com/public_htm...ve/ubsetup.exe
9- Proceed to install the game application following the instructions
from the installing engine.
10- Launch the game application and enjoy the game.

assist you in this matter.

This is just a generic "I don't know what is wrong try reinstalling sometimes that helps"-type answer. File corruption is possible, but unlikely - I just installed UB on a brand new computer and the first time running it this lockup happened, there's no possibility of corrupted files.

work around:
do an "end task" on one of your open tables.
You will get a "do you really want to leave" message, click no. This should free you up.

It worked the first two times I tried it, not after that. Yesterday I sat in on the big blind with AA had a raise and reraise in front of me. You guessed it, new table? locked out.

Everybody has an opinion but UB has always had the best software IMHO. They need to be giving this glitch priority.

The end task trick used to work for me but not since the badbeat jackpot "upgrade". Froze up on me tonight in a reraised pot where i flop trips and fold out of position. Good times. I also sent my computer specs and havent heard back.

I think it's ridiculous that UB lets such a glaring glitch in the software go by unfixed. I mean, software freezing up with money on the line every time a waitlist seat pops up?

Anyway, best "solution" I've found is that every time the software locks up, I INSTA-end process on UB and restart the software/login asap, and when my tables come back up, look for big hands and play those first.

i don't play on UB anymore, but whever this happened to me before, i just hit alt+tab and it snapped the software out of its funk...just throwing it out there

This is typical UB. They have always had major problems like this or major lag issues. This is just one of the reasons I am amazed that people still play there.

I used to multi-table there religiously. Since this issue has started happening they have lost about $1,000 in rake from just me, and have essentially locked me out of there tables. I wont be playing there until this is resolved.

I've really had it with this. It's happened to me for years at UB, but it's been much worse lately. I was on 10 tables the other night, and asked if anyone had these lockups. Out of 90 other players, I had 35 people say they had. Who knows how many have but didn't type so... That's a lot of "corrupt" files.

It sometimes happens to me when I get a buy-in popup that gets covered by a table that receives focus when the action is on me.

Workaround is to Alt-Tab your way to the pop-up, complete the buy in, and then act on the other table

I have found it always happens if you move the table that pops up before you have accepted the seat. Dont move the table, and it does not freeze up.

Yeah I just posed about this in software forum.
Same thing still happening.

Anyone have the Ultimate buddy issue or am I alone?
(signs me on shows my buddy then signs me off immediately)

I have the problem with Ultimate Buddy and it drives me crazy. It's been buggy for years. It logs on and starts loading players, then abruptly disconnects itself. It will take anywhere from a few minutes to 30 minutes to reconnect. I usually end the program and start it again, until it connects without disconnecting.
