Wongable Teasers for this Weekend

Would this be an acceptable 6pt. teaser this weekend?

San Diego +7.5
Kansas C. +8
Tennesse -2.5

Also, can a game ever be wongable if the line is exactly on 3 or 7. I have gotten two different repsonses for this.
For example, a home team is a three point dog. Can going from +3 to +9 be considered a wong or is that not "crossing" the 3?

There is a FAQ question thread just for questions like these.

There is, and he's probably read it. Would it kill you to write "yes"?

Yes that qualifies as a Wong teaser.

If he already read it why would he be bringing up questions that have already been highly discussed in that thread? Also, would it kill you to actually know the correct answer to his question? Sounds like you haven't read the FAQ either.

Instead of doing a 3 team teaser do three 2 teamers in a round robin.

I also think New Orleans may wake up this week at home. Some books have them at -2.5 so I think that might be a good play as well.

Not a wong, but I am using New Orleans and Green Bay in a 6.5 point teaser to move off the -3 and through to +3.5 moving through 2 key numbers.

OP where did you get SD +7.5?

I'm throwing several units on this teaser:

KC +8
TEN -1.5

at 10/11 odds

The SDG line opened between +1.5 and +2 for the Chargers. It has since moved to between +1 and even. I don't see any online books still offering +1.5.

Not when the -3 you are moving off of is like -120 to begin with, do you see why?

Teasing across the zero is almost always an -EV play

What odds did you get on this?

It is likely -EV because the numbers between the -3 and +3 are almost worthless, while crossing the 4 and 6 in a "Wong teaser" adds more value; I'm also guessing you are paying worse than 11/10 for the extra half point you got.

You are paying 2 full points just to cross the zero.

BTW Thremp, do you ever post anything constructive? Or do you just rack up posts posting 1 line rips on people?

Schwatt,

I think I've posted some of the most constructive things written on this board including v v recently.

I'm asking for you to provide evidence to back up a random assertion.

Also your reason is wrong BTW. You chop the 1s there which do have some value though a small amount.

i think teasing SD to +6 is the correct bet here, SD or Denver who gives a [censored], this one is gonna be a close "close" field goal game.

Forgot to add, the second 3 is not worth as much as the first. That is to say, a ~3 pt fav wins by 3 more often than loses by 3.

i just don't like Titans -8 or -1 pick, its better to give the points to Atlanta.

its just my poor opinion.

Common sense that Vegas will hit the number more often than be off by 6 points.

My data so far indicates that a 3pt fav should win by 3 more than they should lose by 3.

think about the entire post very carefully, he's saying the 3 is worth significantly less to a -8 fav than to a -4 fav

This is mentioned in SSB. But it should be obvious - favs win more often than they lose.

Re: Wongable Teasers for this Weekend

Not the results I was expecting to see, but teasing a 3-point favorite 6.5 points (yes, across the zero) looks about break-even.

My book pays 5/6 on a 6.5 point 2-teamer. So break even is 6/11 wins, so each leg needs at least sqrt(6/11) = 73.85% to win. I have 783 examples of a 3-point favorite from 1985 to 2006, and 73.95% of those have covered the 6.5-point teased line.

454 times the home team was favored, and covered the teased line 74.23% of the time. 329 times the road team was favored, and covered the teased line 73.56% of the time.
